@Hohmannfan say, do you have a sense of what a reasonable size would be for the nuclear thermal generator, in terms of power output?

Reading this
Supposedly the world is ending
Fun
oh, what a brazen abuse of poor planet nine
my new favorite planet
02:25
Huh, wow. If a neutron star and white dwarf merge, the neutron star could actually move into the core of the white dwarf.

Sounds reasonable. Insanely dense neutron matter beats insanely dense white dwarf matter.

Too bad they discovered that planet, Earth was safe until then

@Hohmannfan hey - i discovered your browsergame (when my git push failed). about to check it out :)
@kimholder There is no game in there yet, just the scripts for the command line :(
ah. well, this evening i'll look at them - to see if i can understand what you are doing. :)
it still feels pretty cool to me to open up github and discover that someone else has unexpectedly added something :]]]
Please not look at those awful pieces of code, unless you want some sort of horror trill, I just uploaded it so I could work with it from another machine.
aw, come on. i don't know how to do this kind of JS, i hardly know any JS at all
if anything, maybe i should wait so i don't pick up some kind of misunderstanding :]
What is hardcoded into the command line scripts is just a few basic commands and printing/prompting of stuff. Everything else are in "storyline modules".

> //wtf solution to escape the approaching deadline
heeheeheee
What exists of comments and messages are just fillers I thought of too late at night.
They say 00.00 to 01.00 is the most efficient hour for programming. But that has some side effects.
Not exactly the same thing in this xkcd though. Not going to try that.
i'm pretty sure there is a better approach, and i'm very sure alcohol would not work in my case.
You got some other stuff in Mexico? :P
20:17
um, yeah. Modafinil
because my brain is pretty delicate actually. goes on the fritz at the slightest excuse
I am not sure my brain does exactly what it is supposed to do either, but I chose to leave it "as is". And hey! I have got papers that say I am normal! And so does the friendly pink orb.
"He is a nerd, but there is nothing wrong with him." Good to know.
yeah, i'd do the same if i wasn't managing a condition. i can go without the modafinil sometimes now, but i can't do without a lot of the time.
20:39
but it used to be even modafinil didn't help most of the time
For me, I find living an extremely awesome life it a good thing to do. And coffee.

^ Cernan's Promise in SketchFab 3d viewer - all there, as the current draft
Wow!
WOW!!
WOOW!!!
:D
the shadows are messed up for some reason, they are super pixelated. and it is difficult to navigate, it seems to get that way with large models, it goes too fast.
but of course i'm still not very familiar with the tools, i may be able to fix that.
I see the embedding uses iframes.
is there something to consider about that?
Should still work fine for most people. Framing is still in use here and there.
Testing in the learn.html ...
No issues, works as it should do.
22:38
so, i can put up to 20 annotations on it, same as the markers on the images
and they can contain links, so maybe i can have one for each piece that takes you to the iframe for that piece, which can then have more specific annotations
being the tooltips, then
Looking at the mark-up, there is actually nothing used locally, everything is framed.
<iframe width="640" height="480" src="https://sketchfab.com/models/67e479e1e9ea4ca5b4a43e09a39be4fe/embed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen="true" webkitallowfullscreen="true" onmousewheel=""></iframe>
The rest is just credits and stuff.
the thing is pretty complex, i'm not surprised
Framesets were not included in HTML5, but I think the iframes barely survived. In contrast to a lot of other people, I think the frame concept is a pretty useful and generally a net gain.
w3schools gives the impression it has had a renewal
I see the image markers do now display correctly in my collection of light weight browsers, thanks.
22:50
:) i've left almost all that aside right now. hard enough to prioritize without thinking about the experience of the 1% of people with alternative browsers.
Have you tried the Google Ultron browser?
XP
does it actually download something? do i dare?
It downloads chrome :)
