@Adeek eh?
hey @arctictern so I want to ask a category question. It is very basic however. Consider the following information.
I did this excerise before looking but I was wondering shouldn't it be $f_1$ and $f_2$ switched ?
because we want a morphism $\sigma$ which sends $f_1$ to $f_2$ no ?
@arctictern ?
$\sigma:Z_1\to Z_2$ should be interpreted as a morphism from $f_2$ to $f_1$
the reason is so that composition makes sense
21:28
I mean in the diagram we should have choosen another diagram where $f_2 : Z_1 \rightarrow A$ and $f_1 : Z_2 \rightarrow A$ no ?
Hi,
because we want to define a set $Hom_{C_A}(f_1,f_2)$ not $Hom_{C_A}(f_2,f_1)$ no ?
so we need $f_1$ to be our source not $f_2$ I am little bit confused.
or you could do that instead
I am watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZsJ6BtOh60 and I wonder if a savant who calculates really fast can
unconsciously break RSA algorithm
does it matter ?
21:30
@Adeek it matters that we do things carefully
@Yoda no
yeah so I think the book wasn't careful in his definition right ?
because we are defining $Hom_{C_A}(f_1,f_2)$ not the other direction.
@arctictern ok
@Adeek well, it says "morphisms $f\to g$" but there is no $f$ and $g$ in the example, so it's left ambiguous a bit
yeah
I think maybe $Hom_{C_A}(A,B)$ is isomorphic to $Hom_{C_A}(B,A)$
22:12
well I just shaved off my finger
peeling potatoes
so that was a good idea
22:29
conjugacy classes are just unique orbits, right?
23:07
@NaCl are you there?
@saturatedexpo ye
can it make sense to assign a set a noninteger Number of Elements? (i am thinking of a paralelism to noninteger spaces)
i.e. $f:\mathbb{Q}\to\mathbb{N}$?
More like: |A|=2.5
wat
pls elaborate
23:11
the Anzahl of elements
like having 2 and a half children
it makes sense to assign not only $R^2$ or $R^3$, but also $R^{2.5}$ (but only for fractals i believe)
I don't think that'd be useful in any sense
@NaCl what you think of the new iphone?
idc about it
Apple is cancer
haha
that's right
i guess after 1 week of an apple laptop i have to go in asylum
No rightclick drives windows users crazy :D
Microsoft is cancer as well
23:26
microsoft yes
opensource elitist? :p
OpenSource is aids
Free Software is the way to go
Free as in Freedom
eh, sorry, i meant freesource if you want. paid opensource makes not much sense anyway
i tried elementary OS, and oh my god, that was my most disturbing 2 hours
the only reason i want linux would be Gummi (a tex editor)
so i guess i try some super small distro
Just stay with what you like best, honestly
23:33
win xp haha
but i simply didnt try enough distros to have any opinion at all
mint was decent, but reminded me too much of windows 7
im aware that i could change something, but im not coding
so either it works how i like it, or it doesnt work for me :S
and thats ok
the only thing i know for sure, windows 10 is like cancer on cancer
superaids
it must be pretty hard to get a linux distro working for a small buiseness. But if you look at the prices for like Adobe, you could spend that money in training your personal.
Linux adoption refers to the adoption of Linux computer operating systems (OS) by households, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and governments. Many factors have resulted in the expanded use of Linux systems by traditional desktop users as well as operators of server systems, including the desire to minimize software costs, increase network security and support for open-source philosophical principles. In recent years several governments, at various levels, have enacted policies shifting state-owned computers to Linux from proprietary software regimes. In August 2010, Jeffrey Hammond, principal...

the desktops of linux have become closer to windows or mac
so now anyone could use linux
a big point for windows is, that games work on it. but that would implie that gaming is a big part of the users life, which in term would mean that all windows users suck irl? :s
@saturatedexpo did you know that Microsoft developed DirectX just to make sure they monopolize the market for games in their favour?
Regardless of that, there are many great GNU/Linux games out there and things start to shift towards crossplatform now anyways (just look at SteamOS or Windows with Ubuntu-Bash-Shell)
well for me it's all fine, because the games i want to play can be played under wine (in some cases there does even exist a linux version)
Ye
only sc2 i didn't figured yet out, but nothing stops me from dualbooting :)
just didnt figured it out yet ;)
because the bnet launcher gave an error, i didnt tried anymore.
ah ok
