@Idomathart New username!
@JasperLoy yeap. Do you like it?
user227867
@Idomathart I prefer real names, but it's what you like that matters.
@JasperLoy Indeed.
user227867
It's not just that user leaving stupid comments. Many people leaving many stupid comments on the site these days, LOL.
user227867
Lots and lots of sarcasm which do nothing to improve the site but make people upset.
20:08
@JasperLoy No, but as regards me I accept any challenge in the real life, anytime, about my mathematics I studied.
user227867
@Idomathart I want to ask if you would do anything outside limits, series and integrals?
I would grant 10.000 bounty points for someone showing me a solution without pen and paper to $$\int_0^1 \left(\frac{\log(1+x)}{1+x}-\frac{\log(1-x)}{1+x}\right) \arctan(x) \textrm{d}x=\frac{\pi^3}{192}+\frac{\log(2)}{2}G$$
When you do mathematical art you do it without pen and paper. For the record.
@JasperLoy Definitely. It just that the present stuff I have is already overwhelming to me, and it takes a lot of time.
user227867
@Idomathart How do you do such integrals without pen and paper? What is the mental process?
@JasperLoy It's about doing research in mathematics, thinking freely, without costraints, discovering all kind of beautiful relations and then cleverly using them in the painting of a picture with mathematical connections. Eventually it's all about art.
Hey guys could anyone help me with a math problem
user227867
20:15
@MATHASKER You just ask and if someone can help they will. No need to ask to ask.
The question is, Telephone area codes in the US and Canada consist of 3 digits, in which the first is a digit from 2-9, the second is 0 or 1, and the third is any digit except 0
according to the these rules, how any different codes can begin with digit 2
I said only one cause it says the first digit can only start from 2 right?
user227867
@MATHASKER Also, know that posting on the main site if suitable will get you help more quickly.
@Jasp
@JasperLoyoh okay im new here so
user227867
@MATHASKER The first digit is 2, the second digit is 0,1 and the third digit is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
user227867
That means there is 1 choice for the first digit and 2 choices for the second and 9 for the third
user227867
20:20
If you multiply all that you get 18 possibilities.
user227867
But maybe I am wrong. I am only a banana.
@jasperloy how is 2 choices for second one if it says 0,1?
user227867
@MATHASKER It can be 0 or it can be 1, so 2 possibilities. Do you understand the question? It seems you don't speak English and maybe you misunderstood question.
@JasperLoy it says different codes that begin with the digit 2 doe
so like isn't it saying number 2? I may have misunderstood the question
@MATHASKER wut is the qt ?
user227867
20:23
@Agawa001 The question is above...
I understood the question like Jasper.
user227867
@Idomathart Yes, because your English is VERY good.
@JasperLoy lol, I don't think so.
but how is 0 or 1 2?
user227867
@Idomathart I got 7 downvotes for an answer I posted on English language. This is an indication that votes on SE mean nothing. LOL
user227867
20:25
@MATHASKER What is your native language?
@JasperLoy :-))) I wonder what answer annoyed so much the users.
I'm from Nepal but have been staying in the States for two years
user227867
@Idomathart In the past I would think, hmm, maybe my answer is wrong, but now I know that I am right and the downvoters are just silly.
I don't think my english is perfect but I still think I understand it well though haha
user227867
@MATHASKER I am trying to explain to you so that you understand, but it is hard to figure out how to explain because english is the problem
20:27
I don't think English would be a problem, you can explain it to me in English one more time, maybe I
will understand it
user227867
There are 3 digits in the code
user227867
The first digit must be 2. Only 1 choice.
user227867
The second digit can be 0 or 1. So 2 choices.
user227867
The third digit can be 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 or 9. So 9 choices.
user227867
20:29
LOL
OHH I understand it
I think I never properly understood the question
Thanks
user227867
Good good. May you attain Nibbana soon, LOL.
@Agawa001 the thing is that in the periods with very hard work I would better stay away form entering in discussions, I'm more reactive, inclined to continue silly discussions.
user227867
@Idomathart I am going to sleep. One day when you decide to tell me your name, email me, LOL.
@JasperLoy Sure, when I'll send you my book. ;)
user227867
20:35
@Idomathart Maybe next time we can work together, like Hardy and Ramanujan, LOL.
@JasperLoy :D
@JasperLoy It's good you keep yourself positive! It's a rare thing these days. Remain like that!
A quick question, Could I use nPr formula if the question was something like a teacher has to choose 7 questions out of 13 question bank
21:29
@MATHASKER yes, so long as you don't care what order the teacher asks the questions in
I remember when this question came out. Time hasn't improved it. math.stackexchange.com/q/1841508/137524
22:11
@Idomathart yes but sometimes i lack the motivation to resume a "very hard effort", and my laziness figures like a bear that bocylocks its wrestler
@ted what a new shining cloak you wear
@Agawa001 Hard work is a custom here, or more than this, a necessity. I mean it's like drinking a glass of water, or eating your dinner.
I educated my mind in that spirit.
@Idomathart i wish i can return back to this habit
@Agawa001 You can.
22:37
ooooo, I just created such an awesome problem!!!
23:09
@Idomathart You sound like you're a self-appointed god, or something?
Sorry to offend, but I've seen enough of your posts here in chat that make me want to gag!
Feel free to flag as offensive...I'm just being honest...I've held my tongue for awhile now, but enough bs is enough bs. You're no better than ANYone who stops in to chat, on or off mse. Just PLEASE STOP pretending your some sort of expert who....
Just please get over yourself, and maybe then this chat will return to being helpful and being a hub for users to interact with one another without assuming any airs...
@Idomathart Feel free to ping me, and I'll be happy to engage in a discussion with you.
Don't get me wrong...it's good to be proud of one's work. But too often it seems that those who spend so much of their time trying to convince others of their greatness are anything but.... BE GREAT...don't just proclaim to be so great.
23:41
@Idomathart One final comment, btw...I do recognize your new username, but you've still the bravado you had with your "old one". If you've got serious work to do, work that's beyond the scope of the "common man/woman/mathematician/etc, then go away and do it...Your frequent presence here is pretty revealing though.
@user6490576, @Huy Don't be scared away, given my messages above, or their tone....I've just never encountered anyone quite as full of him/herself...so I said what I needed to say...feel free to chat!!
@Pval the end of the comment above is also to you...go ahead and chat freely...I'm actually one of the kindest users on MSE...rarely, I encounter folks like @Idomathart!! ;-)
@MikeMiller I asked a question on MO you might be interested in.
