this geometric picture, the correct analog of a neighrborhood of a point $*: k \hookrightarrow k^{alg}$ should be a commutative diagram consisting of $*$, $\tilde{*} : A \hookrightarrow k^{alg}$ and a hom $k \to A$, where $A$ is some algebraic structure lying over $k$. d'you have any idea what this algebraic structure should be?
