the problem, @Ethan, is that some people with 5's do fabulously in multivariable or my Honors multivariable/linear + proofs course. Other people with 5's really need to take Calc II. It sucks.

Schools think that throwing calculators/computers at kids makes them wildly successful. So now we have a generation of students who can't do algebra because of calculators/computers. However, they are fabulous tools for learning, exploring, if used right.

I have a problem that I have been trying for a bit now but I am at a brick wall.

Prove by induction that $\displaystyle F_n=\frac{(1+\sqrt{5})^n-(1-\sqrt{5})^n}{2^n\sqrt{5}}$ Where $F_n$ denotes the nth Fibonacci number. I tried some manipulation on $F_n+F_{n+1}=F_{n+2}$ and $F_{n+1}F_{n-1}=F_n^2+(-1)^n$
