PiTheNumberBecause of the Java 7 firewall problem I am trying to excute netsh advfirewall set global StatefulFTP disable as administrator but I get an error "Der folgende Befehl wurde nicht gefunden: advfirewall" (german). hi
thanks for help. Even it was not the solution, you still wrote a great answer!
no problem
@PiTheNumber so you do have the adv firewall controls available in control panel (not just the standard firewall controls?)
I think so, but I am not 100% sure what you mean
In the firewall settings i have general, exceptions and extended
at the other pc (at home) I also had something more in the system controls > firewall panel
14:28
I will find a picture
@PiTheNumber do you have this control panel?
I have it at the other pc but I did not see it here.
ah ok, found it here too
i tried to disable StatefulFTP there but I did not find any option for it
okay
I do not think you can disable it from the gui
what output do you get from cmd.exe (as admin) -> netsh [enter] -> advfirewall [enter] -> show global [enter] ?
I get "The following command was not found: advfirewall." after advfirewall [enter]
like the context is not installed
yet the gui control panel is available?
that is odd
maybe it is only available in windows professional?

I am checking
you have vista business, correct?
is this computer part of a domain?
@PiTheNumber is the computer part of a domain? Also what is the output of winmgmt /verifyrepository
also @PiTheNumber what is the output of netsh show helper
yes it is
show helper is an empty list
interesting
we can try to add the helper back in
winmgmt /verifyrepository => WMI-Repository is consistent
14:57
okay
so two ideas
1) gpo is blocking your access because you are on the domain
2) need to restore all helper functions to netsh
also - what is output of netsh show version
hm... the other pc is not in gpo, but there might be a licence problem. I tried to add something to netsh but I did not find out how
The following command was not found: show version.
I would guess it would be easier to change the setting over the registry. Any idea where I could find the right key?
netsh add helper AUTHFWCFG.DLL
that did work!
yeah, greate. that did the trick!
thank you! :)
I kiss you feet and scrub them clean ;)

I will update my answer
or rather post a new one
may i ask how you find this? netsh add is not in the normal help, isn't it?
ah I see, there is add helper...
and how did you find the right dll?
also, I am going to update my answer with the other contexts as well
