@tony I don't know how un-American it would be. But, yeah, at the moment I do not foresee it. Notice, though, how Trump has just today replaced a few top military men.
About a civil war: as long as the army picks one side, I don't think there could be any serious resistance. A hundred million guns can't kill a tank.
@tony Russia's giving up land: do you mean giving up its claims to the whole of Ukraine?
I don't think Ukraine will sign any peace treaty without substantial security guarantees.
@Adam Ughh that is terrible timing, on top of the normal stress caused by loss of employment. I hope you can find something relatively quickly, I would hire you!
@Cerberus Thanks! The seller of the home has agreed to do seller-financing, so we can essentially make a down payment and then monthly payments to them until I secure employment. Then we refinance that financed amount into a traditional loan in our names.
So... housing crisis averted! Now to just secure employment again.
@Adam Oh, that is great news!
One wheel of the wagon mended.

@Cerberus Indeed!
You can do this.

@Adam That's good news, given the circumstances.
Sounds like it'll all work out.

@Adam That word again: yesterday was the first time I have ever heard a president of the United States of America say the word "shit" on live TV: ...under Biden everything turned to shit...(yet) another anti-Biden harangue. Picking on an old man who is clearly ill is pathetic, disgusting and--you would have thought--beneath even Trump. Obviously not. A president of the United States--the power of money?!
@Adam The best of luck with finding a new job.
@Cerberus Well, yes; but look at how the Ukrainians have fought against a mighty (??) military machine. Revolutionaries have often been outgunned: Eastern European countries in 1989....Those communist governments could not fight their own entire populations; the Vietnamese against the Americans; the Americans against the Brits; the Syrians against Assad.
@Cerberus The US military being party to a coup d'etat is unthinkable; still, we'll see.
@Cerberus The Ukrainian land Russia is now occupying. If a phoney peace deal is concocted, the Russians will be back for the rest of it. If Trump withdraws aid and Europe does not fill the gap, what will Ukraine do?
