@Adam True, but else would you expect of a vamp-ire?
@cmw I still can't wrap my head around that phenomenon. People will name something that they've put months of work into or decorate themselves with a tattoo with a foreign language text that they have no clue about and that may well be wrong. Not checking properly is just unfathomable.
I found a silverfish on the L&S book (which was in pretty good shape otherwise), so I had to put it in a bag in the freezer
@JoonasIlmavirta I guess I expected them to sink their fangs it.

@Adam Check for bite marks/eaten pages.
If you have silverfish problems, just get a centipede. They prey on them.
Then you can write a song about it to the tune of "there was an old lady who swallowed a fly..."
@cmw The freezer will kill any silverfish and eggs, although we get centipedes in the house this time of year so it might happen anyway.
Nevermind that they creep me out. :P

@Vegawatcher Your link the other day reminded me of this thread, which has the same link but for Greek: latin.stackexchange.com/questions/15535/…

@Vegwatcher: I've studied French & Russian (school & beyond) and dabbled with Spanish & Turkish. As you say, retaining them is a problem. A solution would be to read a newspaper, in that language, at least once-a-week. Finding the time. When I plan a visit to Turkey or Spain, the motivation increases; though, I haven't been anywhere for three years.

Reviviscite, Dei Antiqui!
I was in a Lovecraftian mood when I settled on that title

@tony Thanks for that link. I don't know why these things seemed buried on their site. After looking through the list and refreshing my memory, i came across πῆμος, τῆμος, and ἦμος, which I don't recall every seeing. Those are really strange endings.
