Q: About Sappho's "Hector and Andromacha" poem

MickGIn a relatively short while, I'll have to write a blog post on this poem, so I've been doing some research into the sources. The first is P.Oxy. 1232, an image of which is the following. A later source is P.Oxy. 2076, with image below. From these, I can find most of what the text at Greek W...

Q: "User" in Greek in the English technical sense of the word

User26328As I don't have an English Greek dictionary myself, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I could translate user into Greek in its technical sense used on sites such as this one.

Q: What is the difference between niger and ater?

Joonas IlmavirtaL&S gives descriptions of niger and ater, but the difference is is not clear to me at all. Both mean black, but there appears to be a difference in nuance — as practically always when two different words mean (almost) the same thing. I get the impression that ater is more in the direction of "mo...

It's getting hard to find the actual chat between all these question announcements. Do others want to revert back to the old style?
Yeah I was just thinking that... I saw the chat box on the side say that Hamlet was the last one to talk, but finding his post amidst the feeds was a challenge, and it turns out that the last real conversation was significantly further up...
I don't think there's any issue with manually posting a link here if someone thinks it warrants additional attention or if it's somehow conversation worthy, but I don't find the automatic posting all that useful.

I agree
@Nathaniel @brianpck I tried to change the feed settings. I hope it does now what I intended.
Having the little pop up feed like before is fine, as it leaves to permanent mark in the chat and the question flux is still modest.

Looks good to me!

@JoonasIlmavirta Looks fine! I think I changed it into inline posts because someone requested it a while ago.

@Cerberus I remember.
And it was a reasonable experiment. Now we know what the feed does to the chat.
I was just going to suggest protecting this question due to the bad answers it has generated, but it seems that the bot read my mind.
Three deleted answers, one horrible answer left as a warning example, and all the flags must have triggered it.
I deleted the latest bad answer on sight. I'm not giving the benefit of the doubt for that type of answers: Google translation, already contained in another answer, no explanation, and horribly wrong.
@JoonasIlmavirta Ah, interesting: I didn't even know the bot could do that.
@JoonasIlmavirta Yeah, I think we have lost very little in that answer...
