@TedShifrin Yeap.
OK, I'm outta here.
@TedShifrin Peace.
I need help
@Dave with what?
im trying to find if a value is more or less than a third of the total
so i do this:
total / value
now is the answer referred to as a "fraction" ?
in this case
or some other terminology?
like i'm writing it like this:

fraction = total / value
but not sure if fraction is the right word
00:13
@Dave The result is called the quotient.
But $total/value$ is a fraction.
so quotient = 3
fraction is 1/3
The quotient wouldn't be 3 if the fraction were 1/3. The quotient would be 0.3333...
3/1 = 3.
oh sorry yes
@Axoren thank you for the help :)
No problem. Good luck.
Hallo @DanielFischer
Wie geht es dir?
Hello @quid
00:19
Hello @evinda!
How are you?
morning @quid
Fine thanks. A bit tired.
Hi @MikeMiller
Aren't there vacations now at your university? @quid
Yes, sort of. But the research never makes vacations.
00:22
Aha @quid
Whats the correct symbol to represent reoccuring ?
00:34
See you all.
00:45
@Dave, do you mean like repeating threes? $0.33\bar{3}$
um =/
that won't look like right microsoft word
i thought it was a period point above the number
There's a link on the side for viewing LaTeX in chat.
but not sure how to write it in word
It's an overline over one of the threes.
so theres no built in ascii to do it ?
00:47
yeah thats it
Nope, you've got to figure out how to show that in Microsoft Word yourself.
The Equation functionality in MS Word might let you.
You could just say 0.333 repeating.
Or 0.333...
ill ask what format they accept
Alright, good luck.
thank you
00:49
I will go to sleep now.. Good night!!! :)

Tumble weed...
If you want something to do, math.stackexchange.com/questions/1128485/…
Help me figure out what to do with this mess.
Haha. I do not go into Fourier Analysis. But the problem looks interesting.
It's either that function or its negative.
01:32
+1
@Julian Do you know what Fourier analysis is?
@user1111 do not talk to me
why?
because I know who you are.
who am i?
01:38
And I have been doing my research on you.
Don't start having an existential crisis, @user1111
what are you talking about?
There is practically no information about "user1111" on the internet
@Axoren the user account is another person I know
I really do not know what you are talking about
01:40
If only I could get some moderator to check your email @user1111
@Julian I really do not know why you want to do so much investigation on me
I don't think they have access to that.
user105491
@Julian I have commented on your question here: area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/82510/mathematics-advisory/…
@Julian Can I say something about your blog?
I've been reading your posts
i'm not going to comment without your permission
Apparently not.
I don't get this trend lately with turning MSE tags into SE proposals.
user105491
01:50
@Alexander That's precisely why I'm commenting on the proposal
user105491
But the "proposee" seems offended that i'm taking interest in it...
@Axoren I have been researching how to get this email found because I am sure of my gut.
@user1111 I know you are going to say something negative or something but by all means. Comment on my blog directly
@Julian there are ethical reasons with doxing someone because you think you know who they are.
Ethical?
@JulianRachman It's an extreme breach of privacy for someone to be given your email address, forgetting the fact that it's probably your method of login.
If someone's not sharing it, it's not something they want shared.
01:58
@Axoren I just know that the user is someone already in this chat room
and I know their email. I just want to confirm
@JulianRachman Then their email address on this other account would not be the same.
and I am 100% I am right
@JulianRachman Why don't you just ask them if its their email
@Axoren Yes, you are correct
Morning @Ted
01:59
@AlexanderGruber @Julian is under the impression that @user1111 is being deceitful in not being themselves.
good night, @Mike
