Q: What's the conversion rate from dead civilians to zombies?

Paul MarshallWhen zombies are sitting on a city, killing the populace, how quickly are new zombies born? And is this different between the different units, or the same for all zombie unit types? I noticed that orc hordes convert civilians at a rate of 5 dead civilians to one zombie orc; is it the same for a...

@NickT copy? Where, specifically.
text
Copy refers to written material, in contrast to photographs or other elements of layout, in a large number of contexts, including magazines, advertising, and book publishing. In advertising, web marketing and similar fields, copy refers to the output of copywriters, who are employed to write material which encourages consumers to buy goods or services. In publishing more generally, the term copy refers to the text in books, magazines, and newspapers. In books, it means the text as written by the author, which the copy editor then prepares for typesetting and printing. In newspapers and...
@NickT Which text?
I know what copy refers to.
Extremely short sentences, limited word use, awkward phrasing (to me at least)
> The server is mostly a creative build, that welcomes any new players to come and build.
a creative build what
Yeah... those parts were written by the server owner.
I haven't gone through and changed them all yet.
Take a look at the user pages. Mine is ...different than the others.

Matias NinoAccording to this article and this steam forum thread, it's possible to set up a split-screen co-op in Portal 2 on the PC. @ArdaXi I think it would be more constructive to discuss the Portal topic in Chat. As it is, we've had a long discussion 2-3 weeks ago and you deleted your side of it. Now, you're rehashing it out of nowhere. Clearly, you feel strongly about it.
@Shaun Link?
4
A: Can we play Portal 2 co-op on one iMac?

ShaunNo, split-screen PC/Mac play is not supported by Valve. The only way in which you can play co-op Portal 2 with a single Portal 2 purchase in a way that is supported by the game manufacturer is by purchasing the PS3 copy: Only PlayStation®3 split-screen co-op can be played using a single copy ...

@Shaun I just saw it again. I deleted the comments because they were a bit too flame war-ish. I just condensed my thoughts.
Obviously I'm wrong, looking at your answer's score.
Basically, OP asked if something could be done. My answer focused on "it's not supported". Arda believes that since there is a way, my answer is wrong. My point was that since the method is not whitehat, it's outside the scope of what we address in answers on Gaming.
@Shaun No it isn't.
First of all, it's not against any kind of TOS, and even if it were, that doesn't make it off-topic.

Q: How to handle questions which may require a seedy answer?

RobbIn regards to this question, I am not sure but I feel the answer requires a 'hack' of some sort. At least something that would violate a ToS. That fact that nobody has answered it makes me think it is not something easily done or intended and would cause a violation. In handling questions like...

Is the policy to which I refer.
At least something that would violate a ToS.
Least being the keyword.
@Shaun Exactly.
At least. So a violation of TOS, or more.
I went further to describe that any solution that requires you to unplug a controller at a certain part of the load process to circumvent controller detection can be pretty effectively argued as a hack and a violation of intended functionality.
Point is, if Valve really didn't want you to use splitscreen on PC/Mac, they would've removed splitscreen from the PC/Mac version.
@Shaun No it couldn't.
18:14
Okay, here's my position - if it can be done, you shouldn't care about the legaliness of the way it can be done. Just say how.
GTA 4 didn't want you viewing the characters with nude textures, but they didn't remove it.
Getting it done, though, was hacking intended functionality.
For example, I'd find no problem with an answer saying "You'd have to pirate the game to do that." - it'd imply there's no legit way of doing that.
@Shaun That's not at all comparable.
Some people will blindly downvote anything suggesting piracy, so you better back up that answer with an anti-piracy remark if you care about your reps.
That's essentially what I did in my answer.
18:17
But this isn't even comparable to piracy!
What annoys me is the sheer idiocy in your reasoning.
@ArdaXi I didn't look at the case in point.
Now you're not being constructive.
I'm just talking generally.
@Shaun I'm not trying to be, because you aren't.
@Shaun You haven't at all looked into it. You just read that it is not straight-forward and assumed that Valve doesn't want you to do it.
Which is utterly, completely and without question wrong.
Then again I'm the person who wrote this:
1
A: How do we stand on cheats, in particularly for multiplayer games?

badpWe allow people to discuss about actually potentially straight-out illegal operations like modding the Wii -- why would we want to deny discussions about bannable offenses? As Jeff said: I don't really care about legality unless it's CLEARLY illegal (linking to warez, gimme teh free software...

18:18
Incorrect. I've been very calmly stating my opinion. You're the one resulting to tactics such as inflammatory language.
@Shaun Not at first.
Arda: You're bringing up things we addressed in comments that got deleted.
I asked you for proof that Valve supports it.
If they do, I'm wrong, and I should delete.
@Shaun It's in the game.
You couldn't provide it.
The game is proof.
18:19
I can, however, provide proof that there's only one method they advertise.
@Shaun Which is apples and oranges.
Look, if you don't want to look into the very thing you're talking about, I'm not going to bother. That's all I'm going to say on the matter.
The game is not proof. Games have bugs and unintended functionality. By your logic, any bug that gets released or any security hole that gets hacked was supported by Valve because it's in the game.
This is where you failed to convince me last time, too.
Hence, why my answer remained.

Hello. Can anybody confirm these Urbandictionary definitions for sice: “Often yelled while playing Call of Duty and using the melee attack to kill an opposing player” and “To conduct a knife attack on an opponent or team mate while playing Call Of Duty.”? @Vitaly If you don't get an answer here that looks like a good question for the site
UrbanDictionary is not exactly what I'd call a trustworthy site...
