I discovered the issue while deploying some changes which broke that link, and now I'm getting massive amounts of error emails from the server.
user15026
@FAE O.o
user15026
Why dig the hole behind you?
@FAE I remember making ridiculous amounts of money by hooking up my gameboy to the original DS and getting fruit
@AshleyNunn that's what happens when you hit the money rock. You have to hit it fast enough with the shovel
the holes prevent you from being knocked back
@AshleyNunn So you can hit it fast.
19:01
you have limited time to get all the money so repositioning yourself costs money
@AshleyNunn There's actually two holes.
This is making me want to play Animal Crossing again
user15026
@SaintWacko joiiiiin us
@AshleyNunn I don't have a 3DSssssss
And I barely used the DS I have
@SaintWacko Just be sad with me.
19:05
@OrigamiRobot I will
@OrigamiRobot I will not play Animal Crossing.
I WILL play Harvest Moon.
user15026
@fbueckert why not
@AshleyNunn I currently have Monster Hunter, Harvest Moon, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Fire Emblem, and various PC games to complete.
user15026
@fbueckert fair enough
And I'm replaying the Final Fantasies to prepare for the HD remake.
19:07
Well, I'm getting a different error message from Maven now, which is a step up.
And re-reading the Wheel of Time, to finish it off entirely.
TOO MUCH TO DO! NOT ENOUGH TIME!
Unfortunately, the error message it's giving me is telling me the war file created in the previous step doesn't exist.
Animal Crossing is one of those things that have yet to pique my interest.
Unless Oracle's JSP compiler assumes the .war for you.
@Powerlord Delete the original WAR file (if there is one), then try recompiling.
19:12
@ShotgunNinja Maven is already doing that as part of the clean action.
@fbueckert Oh hey, that's what I've been doing. What book are you on?
@murgatroid99 Knife of Dreams.
Besides which, I'm looking at the Maven log and can see it's assembling the war in the previous step... I've even compared the filenames.
@Powerlord Hmm.
19:13
@fbueckert Nice. I'm at the beginning of Towers of Midnight
@murgatroid99 It's taken me a few months to get to this point.
My book backlog is growing.
FAE
FAE
@fbueckert I'm almost at the end of The Great Hunt right now. Doing a combo of ebook/audiobook.
I wonder if it doesn't like that the argument is quoted.
@fbueckert Yeah, I started about 4 months ago
@FAE That was the first one I ever read in the series.
19:16
However, if it's not quoted, I'm not sure if ant's java task will barf on it if it contains spaces.
My high school library didn't have the first book.
FAE
FAE
@fbueckert That kinda sucks.
@FAE In high school, I took what I could get.
And it got me hooked on the series, regardless.
@StrixVaria I have no idea what most of those numbers mean.
I just read A Memory of Light a few months ago... I think I'm done reading it for a while.
19:18
@Powerlord Yeah, I'm re-reading the entire series so that I know what's going on in A Memory of Light
FAE
FAE
@fbueckert I'm finally gonna finish the series off! I'm waiting to read Mistborn until I do that because I don't want to be conscious of Sanderson's "voice" when I read the final books, if that makes sense.
@FAE Yeah, it does.
Sanderson is a fantastic author, though; you're depriving yourself by waiting.
> [java] Detected archive, now processing contents of
Oh cool! just got he Fish Manic badge for catching a lot of different fish types (cc @AshleyNunn @fbueckert)
Sure enough, the quotes were hosing it.
FAE
FAE
19:19
@fbueckert I knoooooow! I hear so much good about Mistborn.
user15026
@Wipqozn jealous
FAE
FAE
@Wipqozn Jealous! Hopefully I'll have that soon. I can start on my town improvements tomorrow hopefully.
I love this game inordinately much. >_>
user15026
@FAE Yeah, I am hoping i can do the same tomorow
@Wipqozn Animal Crossing?
@fbueckert Correct.
user15026
19:20
@FAE The Mistborn books are AMAZING omg.
@Wipqozn Interest lost. :P
@fbueckert I'm really surprised you're not a fan.
user15026
@FAE I love it more than any other AC I've played
@Wipqozn He hates racoons.
FAE
FAE
@AshleyNunn <_< This is your first AC isn't it?
19:21
@Wipqozn The concept didn't grab me that much.
I tried it a little bit, but Harvest Moon is where it's at, for me.
I keep seeing AC and thinking "Assassin's Creed"...
But it's also "Animal Crossing"...
And Ace Combat, and Armored Core, and...
FAE
FAE
@ShotgunNinja Assassin's Creed: New Leaf... Trying to picture what that would entail. I'm hoping stealthing through alleys to shiv Tom Nook, the greedy bastard.
2
@FAE Or a 100-ft mech demolishing the town without even realizing it's there.
@FAE At least he doesn't force you to upgrade in this game.
He actually waits to get your permission before forcing you into his debt.
19:23
@fbueckert I think they're smaller nowadays, actually? I'd have to recheck the statistics again.
FAE
FAE
@Wipqozn True, but still.
@GraceNote They might; I was sorta basing it off of the cutscene at the beginning of For Answer.
Which are rather large.
@fbueckert They're big in 4A, White Glint especially with that engine there, but in 5 they made them smaller relatively.
@fbueckert Yeah, Harvest Moon is why I thought it would be something you'd like.
PS4 Q&A stream: ustream.tv/ps4
19:25
@Wipqozn I don't have enough time to play what I currently have; adding yet another series to the list just means I have even LESS time. :P
user15026
@FAE My dad and I played the first one, I played some City Folk to try to impress a girl.
FAE
FAE
@Wipqozn I think HM is better about having interconnected systems that @fbueckert would like.
user15026
@FAE I like this plan
FAE
FAE
@AshleyNunn I actually had the wii microphone and everything for City Folk, haha, but I never had any friends to play with. :(
user15026
@FAE I got it waaaaaay after everyone was bored of it
user15026
19:26
except the girl I liked
@AshleyNunn Adorable.
user15026
@OrigamiRobot It didn't work as well as I wanted :(
@FAE I was actually a fan of the Wonderful system; it allowed customization of your tools to a very great degree.
@AshleyNunn Yea...
@SaintWacko Out of all the sock puppet votes, 1 survived the merge.
19:28
@OrigamiRobot Ah-ha! So that girl was @OrigamiRobot!
@fbueckert Haha, that's awesome
@AshleyNunn The only reason I had a Facebook account was to talk to a lady I liked.
@AshleyNunn Cute.
user15026
@OrigamiRobot I have done some pretty silly stuff in the name of love
@OrigamiRobot I made a Facebook account because a girl I liked asked me to make one and then add her.
FAE
FAE
@AshleyNunn As do we all, as do we all.
19:29
@Wipqozn Same.
@fbueckert Wait, what exactly happened? Did the accounts get merged into one?
user15026
but I did meet someone who I am kinda sorta maybe seeing kinda (SO MUCH COMPLICATED) through him StreetPassing me, and thus remembering my name when he saw it on OKC, and messaging me purely based on that fact
@AshleyNunn d'awwww
that's chance.
user15026
@ShotgunNinja It was super ridiculous
FAE
FAE
@AshleyNunn Wavering between cute and semi-creepy on that one, but I'm glad it's working out well for you!
19:30
@AshleyNunn Have you and him gone out yet?
user15026
@FAE I think it is cute :) he's a sweetie
Just out of curiosity.
user15026
@ShotgunNinja mhm :)
@AshleyNunn I take it everything's working out fine with that, then?
19:31
Go home Nintendo. You're drunk.
FAE
FAE
@AshleyNunn That is good!
@Wipqozn wat
user15026
@ShotgunNinja well enough to make me a happy bean, and willing to see where things go
user15026
its weird. My life is weird.
@AshleyNunn Awesome. Also, that sounds exactly like life.
Everyone's lives are weird.
I met my current girlfriend in my apartment, after her ex-girlfriend broke up with her.
user15026
19:32
True. While I am not calling it a relationship, yet, for a variety of factors, it is a thing that makes my brain yay
I am a robot, my life is logical.
user15026
@ShotgunNinja life is full of surprises :)
@OrigamiRobot Teach me your ways.
Like, my roommate invited her over to comfort her, and she kind of fell in love with me.
@ArdaXi Hold on, let me get my tools.
user15026
19:33
@ShotgunNinja Awww
user15026
yeah, I have found most of my loves in odd ways
Turns out, her mother was in the same Rocky Horror Picture Show cast that I'm in.
user15026
@ShotgunNinja niiiice
@Wipqozn This has got to be trolling
@SaintWacko I'm really not sure.
19:34
@ArdaXi OK, I hope you aren't fond of your appendages!
I'm in a somewhat complicated relationship right now
She's 8 years older than me, has two kids, and is quite recently separated
@ShotgunNinja I first saw it on nintendos facebook page. I googled it hoping I'd see it was joke.
But we are both so incredibly happy :)
@ShotgunNinja Yup. And promptly suspended.
19:35
@SaintWacko checks profile Oh, okay. You're not 16 like I thought.
@OrigamiRobot Not really, just the one.
One account had 141 rep, another had 81 rep, and the other had 41 or something. They now have... wait for it... 1 rep :D
@SaintWacko That's still cool.
@Wipqozn Haha, no
user15026
@SaintWacko That is all that matters!
19:36
@SaintWacko lololol
@SaintWacko All three, combined, will have something like ~70, after the puppet votes were invalidated.
FAE
FAE
@SaintWacko Yay happy!
It's good to see guys taking care of single mothers and their kids.
@ShotgunNinja Her kids are awesome, too
Don't Starve update!
19:37
@Ullallulloo Ooh!
It's Not a Rock!
I would not be where I am today without my stepdad's support, so I fully appreciate what you're doing, @Saint.
@SaintWacko Are they gamers?
user15026
@SaintWacko yay!
user15026
@Ullallulloo oooooh
FAE
FAE
@Ullallulloo What's in it?
user15026
19:39
user15026
Also I think i might pick this up for 3ds
Mainly cave stuff.
FAE
FAE
@Ullallulloo I still haven't explored those yet, I'm nervous to do so, haha.
user15026
@FAE I would like to survive more than two days :P
19:41
@ShotgunNinja Well, they're 4 and 1.5, so not really yet :P
user15026
@SaintWacko perfect time to mold them!
user15026
I mean....
FAE
FAE
@AshleyNunn Keep it lit at night! Scrounge for berries!
user15026
let them grow into whatever they like!
@AshleyNunn I started when my littlest sister was very young.
She's now a gamer girl I can be proud of.
user15026
19:42
@FAE I keep causing really big fire
user15026
@fbueckert My dad was the same with me
@SaintWacko Psh, I can't remember not being a gamer.
@AshleyNunn Hm... very good idea
@SaintWacko The older is ready to start learning Haskell
okay, I've decided to try and disable swap entirely on Windows
user15026
19:43
one of my earliest memories is me having this little car driving sim toy and he would set me up with it on the floor while he played Super Mario Kart
In a reboot I'll find out how I can't boot my system anymore. Exciting!
FAE
FAE
Oooh, caught an Emperor Butterfly on the beach at night.
user15026
@SaintWacko :D I am helpful!
user15026
@FAE Jealous. I love those.
FAE
FAE
19:44
@AshleyNunn It's my first one this game. I love being able to donate to the museum at night. Just wish I had places to sell stuff. :(
First game I remember playing.
FAE
FAE
Re-tail closes at 11pm, so I've got a bit over an hour still.
@OrigamiRobot Same, I was raised on gaming from the get-go.
I got a Sega Genesis when it came out in '89. I was 2.
Well, closer to 3
@GraceNote I wasn't really a gamer until Gamecube era
Well, I guess I played a few flight games
user15026
19:47
@OrigamiRobot First actual video game I remember was this one, and this one
Runescape mostly, though
FAE
FAE
First thing I ever played was Tetris on my uncle's GameBoy. Didn't do any PC gaming as a child really.
The game I was really into was Silent Thunder
@AshleyNunn Wow. I have the first one of those, it was one of my early ones too.
And Microsoft Flight Simulator
FAE
FAE
19:48
Got a Nintendo when I was 6 or so I think, Sega Genesis at 7.
And X-Wing Alliance
No wait, my Sega came with Sonic 2, so the earliest it could have been was '92
Oh, and Diablo 2
user15026
@GraceNote I played the shit out of it
I didn't get into Steam until one of my friends got me World of Goo for my birthday, and it all went downhill from there :P
user15026
19:49
@FAE My family got one pretty soon afer launch, and my mom's best friend had a VCR - we would trade the NES and the VCR back and forth
Oh, and I used to play a Hot Wheels racing game a ton
I got really good at that
FAE
FAE
@AshleyNunn Haha, nice.
user15026
@FAE Neither family had a lot of money, so this worked for us. It was kinda awesome
user15026
We also held a NIntendo tournament - the Optimist club sponsored it - we had NIntendo prizes (I got stickers, I remember that) and everything.
FAE
FAE
We never had a SNES, so I'd live vicariously through my childhood best friend.
user15026
19:51
My dad would save for all the nintendo consoles
user15026
they were the one luxury thing we always had
Shut up Comms Room
@OrigamiRobot Seriously
although, yeah, that was pretty spammy
FAE
FAE
@AshleyNunn I played Super C (Super Contra) with my dad as a kid. I learned a bunch of swear words that way, lol.
user15026
@FAE hahahahahaha nice
FAE
FAE
19:53
@AshleyNunn Another thing my sister and I would do was when he was playing Tetris on the Nintendo, we'd give a running sports commentator-like commentary.
@FAE Adorable
user15026
@FAE Love it
user15026
I was usually the chief manual reader and instruction-giver
FAE
FAE
"Oh, he missed placing that square, can he still save it? Oh ho ho, heeeere comes line-y!" ("line-y" was the name my sister and I gave the straight tetronimo)
user15026
@FAE That is amazing
FAE
FAE
19:54
Yeah, we were dorks, haha.
It wasn't so great for my dad's concentration though, lol.
user15026
I remember when my dad was playing something (myst?) on PC, it had like this "secret open only if really stuck" pamphlet thing, and I immediately stole it and hid it and my dad kept trying to bribe me for it.
FAE
FAE
hahaha
@AshleyNunn I was always the radar-watcher for my dad's Dune games
Remember when you had to use TV channels 3/4 to play games?
@OrigamiRobot Yes.
19:56
"DAD, WOOOOOOORMSIGN"
3
FAE
FAE
@OrigamiRobot always 3 for us
user15026
@OrigamiRobot yep! And I also remember having to yank the TV around to get to the coax to play atari
user15026
@FAE 3 at my house too
Same, 3 here as well.
On each and every TV with a system on it.
We had a splitter going from the living room to my room and the way the sega was hooked up, it would display on both TVs at the same time.
19:57
@AshleyNunn 3 here, too
People would come over to play Sonic in the living room and I'd watch from my room and cheer them on.
