We have daily stand-up meetings on my team. Gather around the Kanban board for theoretically <5 minutes to find out how things are moving.

The problem is, after 3 minutes of talking about important stuff, people stare at each other blankly, not knowing how to say "Okay, we're done", and then start talking about unimportant stuff

and then 10 more minutes get wasted

So, I was reading the backlog just now, and I saw @agent86 say FF12 was a good game. I can no longer trust his judgement on anything.

@Fluttershy I liked 12 quite a bit. it had some refinements that I would have liked to see in other games in the series. things like no/limited transition to battle mode, and characters doing programmable things.

FF13 was probably the lowest of the low, IMHO

Dragon Age was a lot better in the "programmable actions" department

it was "tape the A button down and rubber band the left stick to forward" for about 20 hours

and then, maybe, we'll unlock the RPG elements.

@agent86 Characters doing programmable things is why I hated it so much. I reached a point where I could just hold the left thumbstick. That's all. 40+ hours of tilting the thumbstick...

FF13 was pretty bad.

Even the progression was railroaded.

13's where I just said "okay, fuck this series"

I was pretty pissed at FF10 because I thought the sphere grid was too much of a straight line. Then Square was like "you ain't seen nothin' yet" and released FF13.

@agent86 I did too. And then everyone was all "No, really 13-2 fixes things!"

gather up all the copies of that game and burn them in a bonfire in memory of the SNES days

except that one was crap too

FF7 will always be my favorite, followed closely by FF10.

@FAE FFT is pretty solid. there were a couple of GBA spinoffs (FFTA1/2) that were both quite good. you have to be in a tactical RPG mood, though.

Don't worry about it too much; the serial downvoter script should catch it and reverse it.

Max level in disgaea is 9999, IIRC stats are 999,999, HP maxes at 99,9999,999. Damage is effectively infinite. But it's not just that there are big numbers, it's that they have an amazing system that makes all of that work

And the normal game doesn't even break out of standard RPG stats (too much) until you've beaten it once (or if you go straight to power-leveling). And there's all sorts of ways the game balances to actually be playable with insane stats

By plot issues, I mean you spend the entire game chasing around some psycho who actually has nothing to do with anything and the final boss is some completely random thing.
