@MartinSojka But in all seriousness you cannot trust any stats, do they account for all the whole family playing the game? Do pirated games ever get counted? What about LAN multiplayer games?
Following this logic we would never get a "true" total games played score
also we can only hope the suppliers/developers are not lying... O_o
Statistics are inherently insecure (... until you ask everyone, at which point it stops being a statistic and starts being an enumeration). That said, simply asking random people works good enough - and the results seem to indicate that most people play games like FarmVille or simple card and puzzle games.
It's not about "being a gamer" though, but "being someone with dispensable income who can be targeted by a computer game company as a potential customer, since they have experience playing games already."
By necessity, if you want to make something with mass market appeal, you make something like FarmVille. :)
@Josefvz This is my reaction also. Which is why I prefer to make games I like to play, give them a few friends if I think they might enjoy them, and be done with it.
I spent 6 hours taking apart this laptop, cleaning out the fan and reapplying the thermal paste, then finally putting it together again. It made no difference.
In Hitman:Absolution, I am currently playing the mission Part 1: Terminus. I am playing in Normal mode. AFAIK Normal mode does not regenerate Instinct. I have to rely on other sources for that. In my campaign I am real low on Instinct. How can I boost it, to get past guards and to Room 899?

DO YOU WANT YOUR (POSSIBLY-NOT-LITERAL) BALLS FRIED BY LAZERS? I THOUGHT SO.

I've got Minecraft 1.4.5 installed on OS X. I can connect to other servers, and I can play Singleplayer, but I cannot run many commands in Singleplayer mode.
I would like to run /sethome and /home. What's the minimum installation I need to do that?
On bukkit.org, I see instructions to set u...
So I took advice from some guides regarding picking up items for gathering professions early on, and have myself a copper scythe, copper mining pick and copper axe.
In some areas though, whenever I gather I end up with 'ruined ore' or 'ruined wood', which when hovered over for the tooltip in th...
I have noticed already that there are a variety of different currencies, represented by various symbols which are all worth different values and used to purchase different things.
For example on some merchant windows I have noticed the following symbol for a currency called Karma, I've noticed ...
I started to download Team Fortress 2 but later on decided not, so I went to my downloads and I couldn't find any way to delete the download, all I could was stop it from completing. And it had barely started to download as well so I don't want to wait for it to finish and then uninstall it.
I have finished the game with Veterean difficulty and now I am trying to do the same but with the Hardcore option enabled.
The problem is that I am a bit under-leveled and bad equipped and I would like to farm a bit before going on with the main quest. Unfortunately I have cleaned all maps and ...
I have noticed while playing Guild Wars 2 that many of the 'standard' Massively Multiplayer Terms actually mean different things in this game. For example;
'Classes' in many other games are called 'Professions' in Guild Wars 2, while 'Professions' in many other games are called 'Crafting Discipl...

@fbueckert Ooh, things to watch would be most appreciated, actually. I have to do a crapton of cross-stitching to do before christmas, and having things to watch while I work would be awesomesauce.
