i spent a lot of time thinking about the Gaming theme.. it's rather hard. i can't use copyright images. also a pile of game controllers is pretty cliche, also not very timeless.

so i decided to go with the retro theme.

I think the coins are a nice touch because its evocative of things like Mario as much as games like World of Warcraft

i'm so tempted to do an all dark theme... but i just don't think it works well with readability. people are so used to big dark text on light background these days.

for me the most important thing would be that it should be readable

I made it in his base with roaches at the start, but was just to mess around

he just walzed over everything I made

he must have had max units

how did he beat roaches with viking/marine?

after that I didn't stand a chance, because he would destroy every base I made, so I couldn't spawn enough units and gather more vespeen

I'm starting to get a clearer picture

well the vikings combined with marines on land just rip through my air units

I simply don't know how to 'progress' after that

figured I could mass-roach because I can duck-heal towards his base

but I guess I shouldn't have let him alone in the beginning

Well vikings are annoying vs overlords. Roaches do counter Marines fairly nicely (though not as well as banelings)

it sounds like you could have gone roach/corruptor

@Ivo Roaches actually handle Marines very nicely as the essentially act as big meat shields for yoru zerglings

and banelings just stomp on them
