@Powerlord "In this society of capitalism, I believe companies in general should rebuild themselves through their own efforts," Seiji Maehara told a press briefing in Tokyo.
The General Reference closure reason has been a continuing source of contention.
I'm still not clear on what it is intended to accomplish (explanations I've seen have ranged from showing that the user has 'done their homework' to 'its for questions that are better looked for in other places', wi...
Why am I unable to unlock my new shouts in skyrim? I'm using xbox and currently have 5 dragon souls. The new shout is learned and the first word is greyed out. If I try to unlock it using "X" button to unlock a pop-up says needs a dragon soul to unlock. Please help, thanks.
Does anyone have any tips on how to get to high levels on Hexdefense level 32 ("Slow em down")? So far, I've only been able to reach level 51 with a combination of shockwaves and lightening (to slow em down :) towers, and that only got me a few hundred thousand points. I just can't see how to g...
> The rationale given for we should keep it but heavily restrict its usage is that it prevents our site from being inundated by trivial, boring questions.
...Their definition of trivial, boring questions is much lower than the rest of SO.
@James The culture clash between Japanese and American societies is huge; capitalism is all about making as much money as possible, ethics and morality be damned.
@fbueckert water/power company going under due to economic stress? Fine.. we help them out and keep them running while they restructure and get things back into place.. TV and radio manufacturer? Go eff yourself, if you cant move with societal demands then clearly your company should cease to exist!
@fbueckert Kudos to that guy in Tokyo if he really does deny Sony/Panasonic and Sharp the bailouts, just like Kudos to Germany for offering other Eu countries all that money AS long as they signed those requirements to spend the money on appropriate things and restructure themselves as opposed to throwing themselves a party :D
Hehe, my jaw was clenching until I got to that quote in the article :)
Then I was like 'Fuck Yeah! Someone who gets it!' :D
@fbueckert Was reading up on rosevelt and all the things he did to keep 'big business' in check.. which were all abolished and deregulated in the late 70s and 80s :D
... I am going to refuse talking about politics from here forward though.. My stance on all of it is generally so out there people stop talking to me :)
@BenBrocka Just have to make sure that they come with enough ammo to really have 1 shot :D I have had a few that go down to 0 when I actually hold them :(
@fbueckert Riddle me this.. Why do you feel because you pay taxes you have enough knowledge to make world impacting decisions for maintaining the environment within which we live?
I do not have answers which is why I do not try and provide them. I know I am not the person to find them.. but I can see that something is broken with how it currently is.
@fbueckert Yup, agree with that completely. But being able to vote on larger political matters and world altering decisions.. just isnt on that level for me.
I also accept the futility of complaining about them in a forum like this.. Nothing I say on gaming's chat is going to affect anything but maybe how gaming is run and such.. This is not the vehicle of political reformation and change :D
We are getting too big to have these melee-style arguments where everyone can just go at each other. I propose we have Arqade parties and elect representatives to argue for us.
