Might also be a sign that the trend of every fucking company having their store/launcher is going out. Can't believe it was worth the hassle to manage all that shit
yeah you dont get user data but the steam cut must be less than everything you need to put into your own launcher

@Fredy31 As Riot can show, running your own launcher sounds nice but it's just a massive headache since it generates little to no revenue (I doubt there was much marketable user data) and still has maintenance costs that take development resources away from your revenue-generating ventures (i.e. games).
And people will complain about deficient launchers and clients since it's what they interact with first.
