the Pokemon day event should be soon.
Will Nintendo/Gamefreak manage to karma-houdini out of the performance mess with Scarlet/Violet?
09:42
Players are raging on Genshin social media channel for the state of the new-to-be-released character.
incoherent skill set with no purpose and poor stat.
What really baffles me though...
Characters are their source of income, so they want them to sell.
They also have a beta test system in place, with each beta being tested for at least a month.
HOW can they end up with characters so bad balanced when leaks during the beta already pointed out how testers already pointed out the issues with the character?
I can only see two answers:
a) your testers tell you that the character won't sell. You ignore them. WHY do you have beta tests then? WHY waste money?
b) you testers told you everything was fine because either they have no clue or they are actively working against you. CHANGE THE TESTERS!

That said, there is some positive side to this mess.
Some player decided to use the money they saved for the character in another way.

@SPArcheon Honestly, there's something to be said about the second model when done properly. I don't need tomato, bacon or yellow sauce on my burger, so if I can buy a cheaper burger that only includes the ingredients that I want, I'm not going to complain
For example: if I could buy just the campaign part of Call of Duty and ditch the multiplayer in return for a cheaper game, I honestly would buy it sooner
14:07
one thing that the image is missing is the added macro-transactions for boosters, resource packs
i suppose to fit with the image, they would be the salt and pepper and you pay for each shake
15:04
@Nzall the thing you miss from the picture is that a the "original game" is sold as a burger but is not working as a burger since you only get the bread bun. The point is that the "base" game doesn't work stand alone, you HAVE to buy the dlc.
Second, the only way to get the bacon slice is to preorder, before you know if the burger will be good or even work (coff coff Pokemon Scarlet horrible performance just for a recent example)
Third, some "dlc" are mutually exclusive:
Want both mayo and ketchup? Buy twice or kill yourself, they are exclusive to a specific retailer and can't be bought separately.
Example?
New Zelda has a wooden plaque from Gamestop
but other shops have a metal coin...
and I remember reading something about a key-ring too
@Memor-X come on my friend... you can do better than that. You get only one shaker, you pay for each shake and you have 50% chance to get pepper, 50% to get salt.
you have to add gacha somewere, right?
15:39
@SPArcheon More like 90% chance to get sand, 4.5% chance to get pepper, 4.5% chance to get salt and 1% chance to get both at exactly the right balance
@Nzall but you have a guaranteed Salt&Peper after 100 shakes.
Yeah, but it won't be guaranteed at the right balance
@Nzall oh, it will, but that will be the balance the devs made, which is not at all guaranteed to make sense.
Then there's the soda fountain. You get a cup with unlimited refills, BUT you need to wait 6 hours between each refill, with an option to buy early refills
Plus, don't forget the battle pass: you can buy one for half the price of the full game, and if you then eat the designated food item off the menu every day instead of choosing what to eat yourself, you get a small amount of points that you can use to buy things to decorate your plate with. Then, if you manage to gorge yourself every day, you get rewarded with a free battlepass for next month
@Nzall Based on what @Fredy31 once said, I think the only gamewith the "pay first battlepass, get next month" thing is LOL?
most expect you to buy the pass every month.
15:54
@SPArcheon I think there are others as well
16:06
in the meantime, Genshin social channels still on war about the character to be released in two days.
and the more I read, the more I can't get HOW you can release a character in that state

Q: Is it off topic to ask about building game consoles?

Deko Revinio -leaning away-A bit of background here: You may remember me from the main site as the PS1 user and possibly KSP player. What you don't know is that I am a total tech whizz who among my friends is notorious for tinkering with computers and whatnot and having them leave in worse condition than when I started. Lu...

The best part of the PKMN S/V dlc reveal:
the main characters aren't wearing the cursed uniform of ugliness in the picture on the left
That said, a summer yukata in a matsuri context... with pants still looks quite forced, but..... Better than nothing.
No word about the game horrible performance.
BTW, noticed this in the patch notice:
> We have addressed an issue that made the game prone to forcibly closing at certain locations. As a result of this fix, there may be fewer Pokémon and people displayed in certain towns or in the wild.
So, is this basically an acknowledgment that the game runs so poorly that if even crashes when there is too much stuff on screen?
Gamefreak should outsource Pokemon to Treasure....
and before this ... Bangai-o was a GBA GAME

BWHAHAHAHA..... this is next level trolling......
In order to make Mihoyo "fix" the bad character they are about to release in Genshin people are organizzing a mass GDPR data request "DDOS"....
>[cut] wanted to make sure that amidst Hoyo releasing another underpowered character and all of us requesting that they fix that, we're remembering that if we ask Hoyo for hard copies of the information they have, they're obligated to do so.
Now, this will inconvenience them as all of this has to be done manually, but I think that's a small price to pay for verifying that our information is safe. While we're at it, just so that we can make sure they're receiving our feedback, it would probably be a good idea to attach "#fixDehya", "#justiceforDehya", "#MakeThemListen" or something along tho

(from hours ago we're all clear then and now) neat, I didn't know "radar confirmed tornado" was a thing (vs "radar indicated" and "spotter confirmed")
Apparently radar can not only pick up signs of wind shear and rotation in a storm, but it can also pick up signs of debris in the air
So when NWS sees both rotation and debris they're pretty much completely sure there's a tornado right there
Take cover immediately, proceed to the lowest level interior room avoid windows, if you are in a vehicle or mobile home proceed to the nearest more substantial structure etc
