New York Times Shutting Down the Wordle Archive Could Be A Sign of Things to Come

> The Wordle Archive is a fan-made service that allows users to play past Wordle puzzles and track their statistics. It is useful for players who might have missed Wordle on certain days, or for players who hopped on the trend late and would like to play the earlier puzzles. Unfortunately, anyone who tries to visit the site now will be met with a message informing them that, due to a request from The New York Times, the archive has been shut down.

The message takes on a positive tone, however, and it thanks users for past support, and it encourages players to play Wordle on the official site.

I solved Semantle #44 in 135 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 7.98. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #29. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 32.25 (943/1000). semantle.novalis.org

@Memor-X interesting. In a way though it's somewhat in the spirit of how the game works. Either you play it that day, or miss it.

maybe NYT is going to host that themselves. but a part of me can't imagine it being done for free

Like in the same vein, I can't understand why nintendo has not embraced the randomisers/nuzlockes and build it in their new pokemon or rerelease the olds with it

nah they just shut them down and then never do that functionality

@TimmyJim There are significantly more issues that get resolved with a reboot than ones that are exacerbated, so that should always be something you try first.
