Q: How can I check if my Minecraft client is vulnerable to Log4j?

Aaron FrankeI know that the Log4Shell exploit in Log4j allows attackers to run arbitrary commands on people's computers, and that Minecraft is vulnerable. Is there a Minecraft server that I can join which will tell me if my client is patched or if I'm vulnerable? If not, is there another way that I can check...

Merry Christmas Everyone!

@Memor-X Same to you!
@MBraedley Yeah I've started part 1, but I didn't have time.
I was thinking of trying to be super clever with it.
I might just do A* or something, but not sure when I'll have time. Busy busy busy!
Todays one looks way quicker
Hahah
@Ronan Oh no
That's not a good laugh
Oh jesus christ. OKay now I see.
well I'm going to go make breakfast and probably play slay the spire then return to this afterwards
Probably fit a shower in there somewhere too
14:15
It's a really interesting problem, and it's not actually that difficult once you've worked it out. I kinda wish there was a hint system or something because I got stuck at a few key points and looking on the reddit gave me slightly too much information

I worked out d23p1 by hand (which took me several attempts). I tried threading the shit out of it recursively checking each possible move, but none of them ever finished.
i.e. I never got a solution, let alone the smallest solution.
I'll put this on a branch for future reference.

poor @Fredy31 though he was safe....
Hope everyone who celebrates has a merry Christmas!

@Niro Same to you!

Hmm, apparently "11111111111111" is not a valid model number, which means I have to go through every 9^14 possibility? (Or start from the top, so I can expect ~9^13 possibilities.)

@MBraedley I haven't time today finish yet because Christmas eve, but my currently bugged code has a loop for each digit. The idea is I'll only need to rerun part of the program for each iteration...
Although I just now re what my bug was!
I need to reset the values of the variables
22:05
hmm, it looks like I'll be able to check each digit individually, at least I think that's the idea
Just have to break up the program at every input instruction
@Ronan seems like I missed this. I hope the hint isn't AABB
22:28
@MBraedley Yeah I preparsed it, then broke it up into a separate list of commands for each input.

@Wipqozn Doesn't seem to be working for me, none of individual values are valid
Good proposal for entertainment very cool

@MBraedley You just need to have faith
@MBraedley As in you don't want to use them or you already are?
@Ronan As in I don't want to implement it.
