@fredley i just watched that on discord and it took me a bit before i realized that it was an actual hand, not someone using a mod
01:39
@fredley I think he'd got a YouTube channel for the these
01:50
@Ronan yeah something like that
02:34
@SaintWacko Knowing the needed concept for solving part 2 just meant I didn't have to spin my wheels trying to solve it. Still had to code the solution anyway, which is a bit more verbose in C++ anyway.

Q: Do delisted games on Steam count as perfected games if I would 100% them now?

LinkbladeE.g. there is No Time To Explain Remastered and the delisted original version No Time To Explain in my library. The original is delisted from Steam Store, but I can still download and install it. Would this game count to the amount of perfected games for my profile?

@Fredy31 The apollo client tutorials has an example one apollographql.com/docs/tutorial/introduction
Also apparently twitch has a graphql api

2 hours later…
12:07
well that's not right
don't mind me please, usual WB test
insert coin
I apparently did not implement Dijkstra correctly because I visited every node on the map in part 2
12:45
It's quite possible the bottom right is the highest cost tile, so that's not that unlikely
But also I didn't bother quitting out early
13:30
I know my cost function is not optimal, I'm not using the cost of the second point, I'm using the cost of the first point. I'm also not accounting for the distance to the end, which would be relatively easy.

1 hour later…
14:43
@Ronan Cool, guess I'll look into Twitch's GraphQL api

1 hour later…
ave

15:46
I use twitch's internal graphql api for several things. It's quite neat.
here's some outdated docs btw github.com/daylamtayari/Twitch-GQL

apparently youtube is celebrating 1 trillion views on Minecraft content today
16:32
that doesn't sound like a lot for Minecraft 🤔
I think someone worked it out to be 4000 videos per player
there's people who watch minecraft videos and don't play it
there's youtubers for whom minecraft is just something they do while they talk and provide content in that way
it's a big number, but I imagined all of minecraft content combined would have easily more views than that :o
It's possible that not all Minecraft content is being tagged as Minecraft content.
true
Yea, I'm more surprised that it's only just now happening
I suppose it came out 10 years ago so that's 100 billion views a year, which sounds more impressive for some reason

In other news, some weird concept called "friends" keeps getting in the way of my attempts to play FFXIV.
I've figured out that the only way I'm going to make it through the login queue in a sensible amount of time is to play in the middle of the night.
Obviously, this isn't good in conjunction with a regular job with regular work hours.
So I devised a schedule where I go straight to bed after coming home from work so I can wake up at 2 in the morning with a full 7-8 hours of sleep.
But this schedule doesn't work well with other people who don't play FFXIV and yet have the nerve to call themselves my friends.
oh huh, this is happening
in 15 minutes. I think.
17:26
oh god it begins

Q: Unable to join online games of Among Us due to Parental Controls that were never set up?

EleventhDoctorI want to join online games of Among Us on my Xbox. When I try to join, I get a message saying that I cannot do this owing to Parental Controls. I have never set up Parental Controls on my Xbox, and there are no 'Family' settings pertaining to me. How can I enable myself to play Among Us with oth...

This pathing algorithm is not fast
19:33
just make sure it's fast to find the next mode to look at
20:14
@Wipqozn anything interesting in there?
@Fredy31 Not really
21:03
> Elapsed time: 5266609 ms
21:15
@Sterno And here I was complaining about having elapsed time of a few seconds
21:37
this is also why I write Stopwatch.Elapsed which is a DateTime
or timespan maybe
yeah it's a timespan
that makes sense

1 hour later…
22:51
well this is awkward. Works with test data but not real data.
...but it works with another set of input, if I make a new account. wtf.
oh you can go up or left sometimes lol. For fuck sakes
Must be it. here Iw as trying to be all clever.
23:29
I have implemented a slow algorithm and I will wait for it to finish part 2. perhaps it will never end.
23:40
@MattE.Эллен I used Dijkstra, and it's taking a long time to do part 2, but part 1 was okay.
It'll finish eventually...right...?
@Wipqozn same
A friend used A* and that worked a lot more quickly, but I just don't want to write more code this late
@Wipqozn one way or another, an end comes to all things
@MattE.Эллен yeah I thoguht about switching haha, but same. Fucking lazy.
I'm going to just go play Slay the Spire while it runs.
It'll finish eventually. or crash.
running the algorithim

finished the algorithim
Date Wed Dec 15 2021 23:38:06 GMT+0000 (Greenwich Mean Time)
oh lordy
yeah okay going to go play spire
oh
the answer is wrong
I am very sad
23:43
@MattE.Эллен Did you try to be clever like me only look at nodes to the right and below?
Because that worked for me on sample, but failed on my input for part 1.
aka it was possible for the path to UP and LEFT.
@Wipqozn no. I stopped the first time it reached the bottom right
I've removed that bit, and I'll try again
but it could take a lot longer
although I don't know how it would get a better answer
I always get all the neighbours, up, left, right and down, so I shouldn't be going the wrong way
my expansion code could be wrong
although I got the right answer on the example input
