You're actually better off selling your gems. Smithing gem incrusted jewelry isn't worth it, you're actually at loss in comparison to how much you would make by selling the gem separately and making naked rings with your precious (silver or gold) ingots.

Q: Does the guild vault have collectible storage?

In Guild Wars 2 each character has a bank that they can store items in. One of the nice features is that it has a section for storing "collectibles" such as crafting materials. Guilds also can unlock a storage vault. Does this vault allow for storing collectibles in a similar manner?
