Q: How can I leave General chat?

I typed /help and read every command, and came across the /chat command. According to the info, /chat leave General should make me leave the channel, but it doesn't. How can I leave the General chat (but still have access to the other rooms, like LookingForGroup)?

since the game is in vanilla state

but epics are easier to come by than they were in vanilla

QL = quality level, ranges from 0 to 10

in addition to QL there is a similar (identical) colour coding system to WoW

white, green, blue, purple

same order too

so QL10 purples are the best gear available atm

I still haven't been in an instance in a team yet

in fact today was the first time I did any quests with a group

they're easy in comparison to solo

blitzed every quest in the besieged farmlands in a few hours

I joined a random group for Polaris. Died on the last boss guy because he destroyed the rock I was hiding behind.

Then since my DPS was gone the rest of the fight took forever.
