But I knew a person whose parents who were basically paid to go gambling, compensation for pretty much everything and the casino even gave them chips to gamble with. Though that was because they usually brought a crowd of people with them, so the whole thing's predatory: someone's going to be losing money.

Also, blackjack is one of those games you can reliably win, although casinos watch blackjack tables a lot harder than poker.
