The only "rare" thing you'll need are daedric hearts (and there are some fixed spawns for them at any level)

There's an ebony mine somwhere on the eastern part of skyrim where you can get about 20 ingots per run

Oh yeah... That's also a pretty good way to increase your smithing once you can craft it: Ebony armor or weapons

@murgatroid99 I'd start by setting up something like Selenium or PhantomJS or whatever framework you use to test the request type that's failing to do some fuzz testing in hopes of getting something that makes it take longer more reliably

If a performance bug only happens that rarely, it's either a race condition or a very rare edge case

@Nzall I over-simplified. I said "spuriously" because the problem is that a bunch of "deadline exceeded" errors are appearing, but only for requests made by one specific client. And I'm responsible for that client code.
