I didn't ever really play any Dark Souls games enough to say whether I liked them or not.

I didn't play them a lot because I got stressed out too easily.

I'm trying to expand my gaming, though, and I had Bloodborne for free from some previous PS+ month.

The thing I dislike is how it wastes so much of the player's time, primarily.

But the specific thing that happened to piss me off is the Blood Starved Beast having a poison aura only in the last phase of the battle, which is honestly just making the player's life shit for no reason other than maliciousness.

I have liked it so far, mostly.

Dying to a boss is frustrating because it wastes so much time getting back to attempt it again.

But dying to the poison I didn't even know existed after fighting this thing 10+ times already was just such a dick move on the game's part that was completely unnecessary.

That isn't a fun challenge, it's just you as the player dealing with bullshit.

@InvaderSkoodge each of the Dark Souls games I played had at least one complete bullshit boss like that that takes far too long to get back to after you die, so this seems to be a recurring failure mode of the devteam

(and to be fair it's sometimes hard for a designer to see the line between "fair but challenging" and "bullshit" but c'mon, checkpoints, they aren't made out of kitten hearts, use more of them)

The difficulty of BS Beast really depends a lot on your DPS and if you've got any cocktails

High DPS can take him down before he can even poison yeah. Cocktails really wreck him too.

Also, whatever the games equivalent of alluring skulls are work on bloodstarve, so you can just wail on him while he attacks the corner.

Yeah, but it's annoying that they've "deprecated" the Pencil the moment the iPad line gained support for it (the Pencil 1 is technically not deprecated, but the new Pencil fixes all of my problems with it, so I'm slightly miffed I can't upgrade to it)

if you're really looking on the price, the Fire tablets are very cheap, but you don't get real Android and they're essentially meant for consuming Amazon content. If you're happy with the limitations, they were a good deal, but I haven't looked at them in a long time

my only issue with the Pencil is that you need an adapter to charge it on the charger, and that thing is tiny

@Niro Knowing it's the most BS fight helps. It means if I can get past it then the rest of the game should be fine.

I also don't like the grinding for healing potions if I use too many during a boss.

Dark Souls had a much better healing item system. Not sure why they chose this regression when they had a great system already.

During the day, also drink a couple of cans of cola. Alcohol dehydrates you, and lowers your electrolyte and sugar levels. Cola and other sodas can help refill that.
