I find Chidi Anagonye's character on The Good Place extremely unrepresentative of academic philosophers generally in that, among other things, he knows the trolley problem comes from a 1967 essay by a woman named Philippa Foot, and he even remembers to credit her by name
So I've had a PS4 Pro for about a year now and pretty much since day 1 it's had an issue with controller connection. The Dualshock 4 can almost never be used to turn on the console.
The controller will pulse white as if it was searching, and continue doing that for about 10 seconds before I assu...
I've made some poor decisions (in hindsight) leveling up some of my characters. Are there opportunities later in the game to rectify the situation by redoing skill points, feats, etc.? If so to what degree, would it be possible to change character levels?
@Ave yeh that's what i was trying to work out, why are you loosing it next week when you should have lost it on your birthday or at least the day after (because loosing healthcare at 18 would make sense depending on what it was)
if you're born before 2008, and your parents' insurance started before 2008 and if you're legally a girl, you can use their insurance ALA you're not married.
and if neither your parents are alive you get insurance from govt
it's... weird.
Ouch. Apparently I fall under the highest bracket for the govt insurance too.
The newest update to the app added challenges.
After been given free entry to both and completing them, you can re enter for 10 or 100 Gems.
Would the challenges ever reset and give free entry again or was it a one-time thing ?
I installed The Settlers 3 on my Linux Mint PC, using Wine to run it. Since it is the original version with 2 CDs - CD2 for campaign and CD1 for everything else, I get the following problem:
Sometimes the game asks me to insert CD1 / CD2 (e.g. when CD1 is inside and I want to start a campaign). ...
@Chippies This is the way that makes companies the most money. They get customers they otherwise wouldn't through an initial discount, and then some percentage of them stay on paying full price even after the initial offer. People who are already paying don't get a break because they're obviously willing to pay more already.
I get that from a customer perspective you would hope that loyalty would be rewarded, but from a business perspective that concept barely makes sense.

Soul Calibur V was weird. It had Kilik who only got a random moveset from a male character, Elysium (Sophitia) who got a random moveset from a female character, and Edge Master who got any random moveset.
Fighting games have evolved to where the story mode actually is a story with occasional fights, and the "arcade mode" is just a series of fights against increasingly difficult AI.
Like in Tekken 7 and Street Fighter 5, the story mode is a full-fledged story, and at critical points in the story where two characters are about to fight, it makes you play as the one that "wins" in the story until you actually win the battle and it can proceed.
@Chippies i like Naruto: Rise of a Ninja and The Broken Bond had world exploration and you could use various Jutsu's to get around the world like climbing onto buildings to getting across to islands and the Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaiichi on the Wii (probably spelled that wrong) you could develop your character with accessories and there were some optional stuff in the world map at times
It fires after five seconds. That's how it's timed. The biggest complaint was that the untriggered firing was distracting to many people, so we made it only fire once.
Yeah, it's definitely not for me, but just in case that changed your mind it's worth having all the info.
Another thing I like about Soul Calibur is that if you screw up and give your opponent a full combo, the combo is short and you can get back to playing quickly.
MvC and DBFZ and Tekken all have really long intricate combos and if you're being comboed it's a really long time of just waiting to be able to play again.
@Chippies well with Rise of a Ninja and the Dragonball Z game there were parts that you could mistake as being an arcade mode since it was fight after fight. like in Rise of a Ninja during the Land of Waves arc or the Chunin Exams and in Dragonball Z for like when fighting Perfect Cell or Freezer (yes that was on purpose)
@SaintWacko Can you reproduce it at all? Feel free to poke at it and write an answer explaining your system info on my meta question and we'll look into it.
I can't find Plantera's Bulb In Terraria, I know it makes a faint glow and such, but I'm on an older platform of the game. Is it not made yet, or am I just not looking hard enough?
@InvaderSkoodge having seen some high-level players play street fighter, I can see what you mean though, there's a lot of inching and looking for opportunities with small hits, which can make it seem slower paced
lol apparently I just powered through a code freeze this morning
WHOOPS
I am uncomfortable with the fact that Trader Joe's apparently requires their cashiers to comment approvingly on a random item from your cart as they're ringing it up.
