Q: Arma 3 hide action icon/text in center

xetra11I would like to hide the action icon/text in the center of my UI. Since I can just scroll the action menu on the left it is distracting me from frontal events. I could not yet find the option in the Arma 3 settings. Mybe anybody here knows?

@Dragonrage I'm a wood elf with a greatsword and heavy armor
Also a werewolf now
i almost always played as an archer or a spell sword
18:18
I tried some enchantments and I added like stamina to some boots and it added a whopping one stamina
Idk I might start over
@GnomeSlice what gem did you use?
Beginning enchanting is terribad.
Yeah, you need to level it a bunch
It does get broken as hell though.
@Yuuki yeah, you need basically max enchantment to have good enchanting
18:19
@KevinvanderVelden oh
A shitty one. Idk I have lots of other ones but it only lets me use petty
Did you fill them? =p
Guessing not
Yeah, most soul gems you find are empty.
Azura's Star is so broken.
Real azura star question is do you use it for black souls or white souls
@KevinvanderVelden if you get the black star you can use it for either
18:22
I'd rather not have a Daedric Prince annoyed at me, so I went white star.
Even though Black Star is objectively more powerful.
eh, its just a daedric prince. they are just another target to pincushion with my bow
No, deadric princes are those things that warp reality
@KevinvanderVelden neither, you trap Vivec's soul in it and then keep it as a souvenir
they cant warp reality if reality isnt real
I mean, the difference between gods in skyrim and deadric princes in skyrim is that gods helped created the planet/moons and the princes didn't
18:28
And as a result, the gods lost power and it's a coin flip as to whether they still exist.
Whereas the Princes didn't and most definitely do still exist.
Yuup
So which is more powerful =p
Ignition was re-released and Scott Manley made a video about it and I am so happy right now
What's that Lassie? Someone said Scott Manley?? I'd better go and check it out

@SaintWacko ooooh, does this mean it has a proper ebook now? hopes hopes hopes
@Ash There's a kindle edition, looks like
Hopefully there's an open e-book somewhere, too
Hmm... how would I write a loop that iterates between integers a and b where a could be lesser or greater than b and a is also used in computation?
My original thought was for (var i = a; i < a + Math.abs(a-b); i++) { ... } but I actually use i in computation.
oh so foreach i in range(a, b) or whatever
18:39
You could also do i < math.max(a, b)
Or however it works in... C++?
@SaintWacko I don't think that iterates from a to b?
Or actually, I guess it does.
So what happens if a is lower than b?
yeah if you set i to math.min
It just only loops once?
for (var i = Math.min(a, b); i < Math.max(a, b);) { ... }
18:41
Yeah, that would do it
if you're modifying i within the loop just go int wharrgarbl_temp_i = i line 1
user15026
@SaintWacko Kindle is convertable enough with Calibre to a decent epub or whatever (I keep my version of desktop Kindle deliberately like 4 versions behind to force them to give me the filetypes Calibre can convert), that's just a lot for an ebook :(
@Ash No kidding :\
@SaintWacko So, for example, if a = 1 and b = 3, then you iterate 1, 2, 3 which is easy. But it also needs to handle a = 3 and b = 1, which in case you would iterate 3, 2, 1.
user15026
Although @ToxicFrog did you see Ignite has a proper (albeit expensive) ebook now? :)
18:42
I hate that they charge so much for ebooks
@Yuuki ooo
hm
user15026
gestures upward in conversation
It's also available from Barnes and Noble
interesting
what language lol
Javascript.
:D
user15026
18:42
@SaintWacko I am so used to indie romance prices where $5 is expensive :P
bah
wait
user15026
So this is like....aaaaaaaaaa so much
@Ash I saw!
user15026
@SaintWacko I'm assuming the price isn't much better?
user15026
I'd check Kobo but I suspect it will be the same
18:43
I'm going to keep using the PDF I made though~
@Ash Actually it's about $15 there
And I actually didn't see it on Kobo
@Yuuki Do you have underscore?
@Ronan Nope.
@Yuuki Oh! Hmm
... why is this iterator variable declared outside of the loop and yet is always assigned a value at the beginning of each loop?
user15026
18:45
@SaintWacko I guess that's a little better
Oh geez
I know how to do this lol
while instead of for?
i = a; i < b; i += (a-b) / math.abs(a-b);
There's probably a better way to do that last bit
a < b ? i++ : i-- should work
Oh, that's better than what I did
18:48
heh
@SaintWacko i = a, n = (a<b?-1:1); i != b; i += n
That may be the wrong way around
var i = a;
while(i != b)
{
   //do stuff
   a>b ? i-- : i++;
}
Alternatively: i += 1 * (-1 * (a > b))
Ruby doesn't even support this as a built in method so that implies that it's definitely a dumb idea.
Because Ruby supports everything as a built in iterator.
for ascending:
(a..b).each do |x|
  # do stuff with x
end
@StrixVaria Yeah, one of the ideas going into this was to change things to use an iterator instead.
18:49
private void Wharrgarbl(int a, int b) { //def overengineered and in the wrong language
    int count = Math.abs(a-b);
    var range = Enumberable.Range(Math.min(a, b), count);
    if (a>b) range = range.Reverse();
    foreach (var x in range) {
    }
}
But if a is greater than b then it doesn't work.
And as I delve through this code, I'm leaning further and further into that.
You should definitely do an iterator that encapsulates the logic if this is actually a thing you need.
Nobody is going to understand WTF is going on if you just do a raw loop with insane logic.
But the issue is that this code seems to heavily rely on the assumption that data is in ascending order.
@StrixVaria #jobsecurity
18:50
function doTheThing(n); if(a<b)for(int i =a;a<b;a++) doTheThing(i); else etc
make sure all variables are initialized as var
int, var, same thing
and all constants should be const var
c# actually doesnt let you do that. idk about js
In JS, everything is var. Or let if you're being modern.
i havent worked in js for several years
hmm, so i add a datatable with rows as a source to a datagridview, but the datagridview doesnt have rows in it :(
18:56
@Ash Oh wait, it is on Kobo but it's $20 there
Actually, now that I'm looking at this code at a 10-degree head tilt, the order of iteration doesn't really matter.
So I can iterate from a to b or b to a.
@Yuuki flips table
@Ronan yeeeeeep
Ugh, just want to throw this out and use an iterator.

Q: Where to get Fallout 4 official Updates

RonuGuys Don't know this is right place to ask this question that I want to know where to get official announcement of fallout 4, I got as google result https://fallout.bethesda.net/ and another match site is https://www.fallout4.net/ Any one tell me that both official or anything else. thanks in adv...

@Lazers2.0 Are they asking for patch/update notes?
user15026
19:08
@SaintWacko :/
user15026
This is my problem with a lot of more academic literature, I want to read it but it costs so much
So I guess i = Math.min(a,b); i < Math.max(a,b); i++ should be fine.
yeah if you don't really need to go from a to b, and just need all numbers between a and b
20:14
this new sidebar feels weird. it adds more white space to the left side and removes some on the right side, leaving the whole page feeling off centered
I like it better than the old left-nav
It "floated" too much
@quartata And now you'll float too.
20:43
The werewolf people seem more culty than I first thought in Skyrim

Q: If there are effectively no restrictions on comments, the site's rules should be changed accordingly

DanmakuGrazerLet's start with how comments are meant to be used, according to our own rules: What are comments? Comments are temporary "Post-It" notes left on a question or answer. They can be up-voted (but not down-voted) and flagged, but do not generate reputation. There's no revision history, and ...

Hawkeye broke both his arms, not in Avengers, but in a movie about adults playing tag, of all things.
user15026
@TrentHawkins This reignites my curiosity of how you actually clean all the playpen balls because like...someone has got to, right?
22:45
@Ash The most efficient method (time/effort wise) would be something like this.
Shoot, I just realized that I mistyped the first lyric.
Can someone mod-fix that?
Lacking that - painstakingly by hand, I'd assume.
@TrentHawkins lol, ball washing machine
@TrentHawkins ehh, you could fill up a kiddy pool with water/soap and dump them in there to wash them in batches
not like individually scrubbing each one
user15026
@TrentHawkins Huh, I guess that does fill the need nicely
@Ash probably only practical for businesses with ball pits, however. with a little ingenuity you could probably rig up a something a little more manual that's still more efficient than individually scrubbing. (Like a hopper feeding balls into a bigger version of a golf-ball washing station.)
23:00
maybe if you had a shop vac with a wide enough hose to fit the balls

23:16
@SepiaLazers not all rules have to be strictly enforced to the letter of the law. a few comments here and there doesnt really detract from the site. its only when questions/answers get overwhelmed with fluff that we really need to get rid of it
23:30
I shall try and write up an answer to that meta later if someone hasnt already articulated my thoughts better than i can
