@badp I think actually people were using the steam keys to turn "free" steam accounts into "paid" accounts, for things like the holiday sale where you could get a bunch of potentially free games or coupons/coal/etc
I know of at least one person who set up a script to buy humble bundles at a penny, and use the keys to register steam accounts
