So the announcement that they got rid of the distinction between PvP and PvE servers may have actually saved the expansion for me

Totally hated that I got world PvP forced on me because my friends originally started on a PvP server and I started playing years before cross-realm playing, so switching servers was not feasible by the time it was introduced

They're giving you a bonus for going with PvP on to make up for the fact that you're going to get interrupted when PvE players don't

Alliance and horde players will have an unspoken agreement where they ignore each other when in the PvP mode, and have both uninterrupted gameplay AND the bonus from being flagged. They need to make it so that you need to actively do PvP in order to get the bonus, not just incidental AoE or "cleave the alliance down with the boss"
