I don't even know if this will update properly, either.

I've complained about java updates in the past too.

@MBraedley Windows 10 will force start the update after a certain time. the PC can restart a few times during an update before it hits 100% and that's normal

to be honest when Windows tells you an Update is ready you should use the time to save and prepare to shut down then have the update run

Java is the only update that will restart my machine without any warning. Even approaching an update deadline will at least let me defer restarting until the actual deadline.

@MBraedley i think it might be similar to what we have at work. work uses their own update platform which applies Windows Updates and uses it's own notification system where a popup window appears for 4 hours as a countdown

the purpose is ofcause to make sure that any updates doesn't break anything.....which is kinda pointless for the dev team since we install just about anything we want

I have forgotten to restart my computer after an update many a time, only to come in the next morning to see that it restarted itself, and the only person I have to blame if I left something open is myself. The java updates are different because it didn't even give me a warning before restarting.

I wasn't aware that you needed to farm anything in Dark Souls.

Most weapons and equipment are available either through purchase or from chests/looting.

There are some weapons that are RNG enemy drops, but not many as far as I know.

@Zachiel But yeah, wearing full armor is generally considered not a good idea against Artorias. Most "cheese" tactics suggest that you wear as much armor as you can and still be able to cartwheel with the Dark Grain Ring.

And some people argue that a naked attempt is best because it forces you to avoid being too greedy.

And Artorias punishes you heavily if you get too greedy.

@Chippies I find tax is only relevant on expensive purchases because it's so small on something inexpensive. Plus tax is irrelevant in this instance because it's not like I can avoid it if I wanted to on XO. Tax should only be 13% for me unless someone changed something and I didn't realize

@Yuuki my Pyro Flame is maxed. I have the red ring and the crown. I only need to get enough attunement to cast power within and the fireball (3 attunement slots, I now have one). I have tried the claymore route with my +15 claymore but I can't break his buff in time (I'm in light load with dark grain ring). Mostly a matter of finding the key to swap weapon and two-hand while also locking and running to him. I also keep rolling forward instead of right - I guess I need more muscle memory.

@Zachiel I actually didn't use lock-on at all during the Artorias fight. I had a lot of trouble with the involuntary camera changes that I turned it off and I had lot more success that way.

It might be the lock-on though because the camera change can affect the direction you roll if you try to input at just the right (or wrong, I guess) time.
