@Yuuki You could go with Leopold II in Congo, that was almost Hitler levels of bad. Although killing of 50% of the population might actually be worse in some way.
Also maybe not a good idea to parade the military through states that voted against you while you have less than 40% approval unless you want to discover americans can make IEDs too.
so since they ran an ad on Twitter for the inauguration livestream and I happened to stumble on it before I could block the advertiser and report the ad
And additionally is backed up by false supporting claims like "this is the first time ground coverings were used" (they were used in 2013), and "we beat metro ridership of all inaugurations" (they didn't even beat average normal day ridership let alone inauguration 2009)
@Fluttershy While I don't think Spicer or Trump deserve the benefit of the doubt, they've shown that they don't care about facts or reality, I could interpret this sentence in a reasonable way. Not everything that is claimed to be a fact is one, especially with statistics you can arrive at different numbers using different assumptions
@Yuuki To be fair, he was comparing the wrong numbers, I think. Ridership all day on 1/20/17 was like 575k. Ridership until 11:00am 1/20/2009 was like 375k

@avery Otaku culture (and anime culture to a lesser extent) has a lot of things that just feel really cringey looking from the outside in. Being on the periphery for awhile makes me feels somewhat numb to it, but it still feels really weird every now and then.
I was reviewing the tag wiki submissions for what I thought was boir-antibirth, but upon closer inspection, was actually boi-antibirth.
This is an issue, because the Antibirth mod is specifically for the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (BoIR), and not for the original Binding of Isaac (BoI). The way ...
This is a single word, idiom, phrase, expression request - so basically I'll take anything that fits the bill.
Basically I'm trying to translate the Chinese word 吹牛 - which dictionaries will tell you mean to brag & to boast - but it actually also refers to things that are usually all untruths an...
A possible idiom is "trumping [it] up". From Merriam-Webster:
Definition of trump up
transitive verb
1: to concoct especially with intent to deceive : fabricate, invent
2 archaic: to cite as support for an action or claim
This particular phrase carries a heavy implied meaning of a fabricated accusation (ie: ...the defendant denied the allegations and dismissed the trumped-up charges as wild exaggerations). — J...10 hours ago
