Well, neither Canadians nor the British know anything about barbecue, so we've got that at least.
Darn, now I'm hungry for barbecue.
Curse you, @Yuuki!

I'm pretty sure Canadians even BBQ in the snow

I bet you use the word barbecue to mean grilling in all forms

Appears to be ribs, I will allow it

There also doesn't appear to be a visible flame. I will withhold my objections for now.

11:09 PM
That's a nice grill too
(source: we have one)

Wait. Is that a propane tank?
My word.

Charcoal grilling is really annoying, to be fair

@Unionhawk THE OPERATIVE WORD HERE IS "GRILLING", GOOD SIR.
I WILL NOT COUNTENANCE "BARBECUE" WITH PROPANE.

Propane is consistent and easy.

@Unionhawk Propane is for grilling. You can't have a propane tank and also call it "barbecue".

11:13 PM
Ahh ok
I was allowing it on the grounds of "its ribs with barbecue sauce so close enough"

@Unionhawk Your morals are weak and unbecoming.

But yeah you're right it's mid tier psudo-barbecue at best
Well, maybe high tier psudo-barbecue

It's no "we bought a smoker to bring to camp so the staff could do a barbecue competition"
I'm glad that captain liked me

I mean, arguably, you could pull off passable barbecue with that grill as long as you had charcoal.

11:18 PM
He did ribs and a Texas brisket to show the general manager (from Texas) that he (from Tennessee) could take him on

I haven't had the pleasure of trying out Memphis-style barbecue unfortunately.
Most places here do Texas-style. Probably because we're in Texas.

Most places around here have kind of a mix
Ish

Sauce on your barbecue just feels weird. Sauce is for putting on the side.

user15026
There are a couple of places near me that purport to do Southern style barbecue but I have no idea how legit it is

But then again, I haven't really tried authentic Memphis-style.

11:22 PM
@Yuuki Maybe for a brisket, but ribs should be well sauced

@Ash It doesn't help that there are many "Southern" styles.
Texas-style barbecue typically eschews sauces for high-quality cuts of meats whereas Memphis-style uses sauces and rubs.

user15026
@Yuuki They just say "Southern barbecue"

Actually, I think Texas-style is the only Southern style that doesn't use sauces or rubs.

This level is brutal Jesus.
First few turns are hard as heck

@Ash Basically, if it's really sweet, it tends to be the other Southern styles, which are distinguished typically on what kind of meat.
If not, then it's usually Texas-style.
Ribs are a bit of an odd duck, tbh.

11:26 PM
Honestly, brisket is the only distinctly Texas item I can think of

I hate all these enemies wielding armorslayers too. I spend 10 minutes planning a move only to miss a unit with one and then need to completely restart. Ducking annoying.

Yeah, everyone seems to do ribs and they all seem to use sauce or rubs. Ribs aren't really naturally flavorful to barbecue without.

It's a super fall of the bone vehicle for barbecue sauce though

I think @badp might be allergic to American food. Or something.

11:44 PM
i thought the US was keeping Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity all to themselves as a digital only on the PS4 but after trying to find an Aus release date i came across this‌. i did another search on the store and i found it. i suspect that the browser version takes into account symbols and i've gotten used to not using them if i did a search on the PS4 itself

touwhat
@Yuuki Hey, propane has a place
What you want is one gas grill and one charcoal tbh

@GnomeSlice that place is deep in hell

no way dude you can do some great grills over propane

i mean the items will be cooked but also flavorless
charcoal is a pain in the ass but the end result is so much better

@GodEmperorDune marinate dude

11:54 PM
@GnomeSlice marinate + charcoal >> marinate + propane

also ceramic grills cant really be used in winter and arent most charcoal grills ceramic
i dont actually have a charcoal one but my dad does

all the charcoal grills i've used have been metal

@GnomeSlice Touhou. it's a Japanese danmaku (Bullet Hell) series that this year some have started to be officially localized on the PS4 this year. Touhou Genso Rondo Bullet Ballet is a danmaku, Touhou Scarlet Curiosity is an action RPG, Touhou Genso Wanderer is a Dungeon Crawler and Touhou Double Focus looks to be a metroidvania game.
i got Genso Rondo Bullet Ballet and pre-ordered Genso Wanderer which comes with a code for Double Focus, those 3 were released by NISA while Scarlet Curiosity was released by XSEED which explains why i couldn't pre-order it
though i wish XSEED would hurry up with The Legends of Heroes: Trails in the Sky The 3rd for PC already
