The only way I ever got it to work was to mash G as fast as I could and then I had a 25% chance to just guard, a 50% chance to block normally, and a 25% chance to eat the hit.

Which isn't particularly useful.

If a question is off-topic, if it isn't comprehensible, if it isn't usable, then it doesn't benefit us to keep it on the site - that is why we close in the first place. We close, however, because the judgment isn't always correct - closing acts as a window to prove the question's worth as much as it is a sentence to its death.

@JasonBerkan Duplicates are the only common exception to closed questions - we keep them closed (or possibly merged) and live because we do have a benefit to keeping them around - a larger footprint. Otherwise, the stuff we close, we generally don't want people to find our site through.
