Because GameMaker at the time would load ALL assets into memory at start. And invoking a start-over call would load them again without dumping the previous assets or looking for already loaded assets.
I remember coming to watch a friends presentation on a game they made for school (I had graduated the year before) and other people were talking about how they spend weeks figuring out how to place their objects in a pyramid... I got bored and figured out the algorithm while they were talking about how hard it is
Our games had to have weekly meetings with the professor. It was treated as if we were giving product updates to our boss, our customer, and our budget manager.
We were reviewed in terms of how well we communicated progress in terms of how to talk to a business manager and how to talk to a non-technical investor.
The team that failed the course was told in their review, "At this point, your investor chooses to terminate your funding. You'll still need to finish the course to get any grade at all."
It was a difficult class because the challenge was in dealing with people, not with the academic content.
That's why I acted fast on team picking. I scouted people I knew from other classes and in one case, I confess, I resorted to a little judgement bias and asked the asian with the macbook in our class if he would like to join us. Stereotypes are bad, but he was immensely talented, just very quiet socially.
I broke my phone recently, and have to use my girlfriend's old Android for the time being. I installed Pokemon Go and tried using my Google account to sign in. I was level 20 and had previously bought store items with real money.
However, I am sent back to the starting screen with Professor Willo...
We had a session in a library study room where he just fired up garage band, we took a bunch of voice samples (for boss-tank intros) and he ran them through various filters. We had a good laugh.
In my head I was thinking, "He's sitting away from everybody else, he's using a mac, and he tends to write or type constantly as the professor talks...... and he's probably good at math."
I have Dark Souls 2: SofS for PS3 and I'm already at 120h+
I have started as Bandit, and I have given more importance to Dexterity, Faith and Adaptability, and some others, but these ones stand out, just because when looking at the description, it "feels" like I'm the kind of player that would t...
I liked that CS3 was supposed to be a board game thing where users would hotseat, and I instead turned in a single player thing with some relatively dummy AI
If you get a freeform project in a software development class, MODEL A BOARD GAME. You don't usually have to model realtime sequences and you have RULES that you just have to turn into code.
The other three numbers are for organizational purposes. Modules with the same first two numbers are related, like all CS21XX modules are introductory specialization modules
Also, some modules have a letter behind them, indicating special status or variation
CS2104 Programming Language Concepts CS2105 Introduction to Computer Networks CS2106 Introduction to Operating Systems CS2107 Introduction to Information Security
So in Sweden I guess some dude tried to swipe the mobile phone of some young women who were sunbathing, unfortunately for him they happened to be off-duty cops so they quickly jumped to their feet and tackled him
@GodEmperorDune I don't think so. I'm asking because I apparently "chased off a new user" on BCG by asking them not to roll back good edits to their poorly written question, and rolling back their rollback
Are there any mods that allow you to edit building durability? I want to make my raider/gunner cages not take any damage. I'm tired of repairing them! If no mods exist, could you point me towards how to edit durability of cages?
Thanks.
I just ate for Felyne Explorer, which should always make me spawn in the map's secret area, but after departing, I found myself at base camp.
This was a High Rank quest in the Verdant Hills, what's going on?
I'm playing pokemon since a while. I registered with a Google account. But I completely forgot the email, can I look it up somewhere? Or is there any way I could figure it out?
This is pretty crazy. I mean, the proof of concept have bee floating around for a while now but seeing it in the wild is somewhat terrifying
The malware also checks the users computer and only deploy if certain file extensions are associated and not associated, the machine is OEM, and certain software are not installed
TLDR: If I'm standing still in Pokemon Go, how far can I catch a pokemon?
I want to start using this app at work https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pokemon-go-spawn-notifica/iklagoflgdhdicifcpjnlcjphibhebdo/related It will notify me when a Pokemon is near.
Thing is the 500m default range...
the problem is i can see only the map and the regular buttons.
I don't see any pokestops or gyms in the game.
Acttualy, it happend suddenly.
Thanks a lot!
can't SE detect when someone asks a question with the words 'can't see pokemon' and then punch the user in the groin while showing them the 'how to search' page?
sounds like a simple enough feature. i bet haskell could do it
> 81% of players meet the minimum room-scale size of 2x1.5 m (rest is standing) 52% supports 2.5x2 m, making it the most common size 20% supports 3x2.5 m <10% supports larger than 3x2.5 m
Actual stats of usage, includes people who use steam vr and don't have a vive (so are standing)
@Studoku To be honest, I find this community has more users to point out the duplicates rather than actually give solutions. With the article you pointed out as the original, I don't see how would anyone ever look at as the solution for this problem when it has such an ambiguous title. Unless the community actually expects everyone to open up each question prior to posting one. — ISuthan Bala15 mins ago
I'm on a prison server where there is no redstone. I need an elevator for my building. What is a fast non-redstone elevator? I need to be able to stop at any floor easily, and I don't want it to be a hassle to use. Thanks.
My question is sort of related to this one, but I am more concerned about saving pokeballs.
When you encounter a pokemon, generally you can assume that the higher CP, the more difficulty you'd have in catching it. However it seems to me that you cannot tell for sure until you use a pokeball and...
@twobugs we made a special case for all the "Niantic servers are down" questions instead of having an endless dupe chain of every specific symptom of the servers being down

> 1005 possible IV combinations found. Average perfection: 28.0%, Minimum perfection: 4.4%, Maximum perfection: 46.7%.The maximum level observed was 1. This Pokemon will require at least 79 powerups to reach level 40.5. This would cost 289800 Dust and 333 Candy.
The game doesnt show any pokestops, gyms or nearby pokemon when i try to play with my mobile network and GPS. The map, my level and all my pokemon and eggs show normally but i cant see anything on the map. I know there are pokestops around me because i can get the pokestops to show when i use wi-...
One factor that's involved in guessing the IV's of a Pokemon is whether or not you have powered it up. This is apparently due to the fact that it takes two power-ups to raise your Pokemon one level, but wild Pokemon never half a "half" level.
Just looking at my list, I don't always remember if I...
I recently reviewed this suggested edit that was proposed by an anonymous user. I rejected it as I felt it offered no real improvement to the existing question, but what surprised me is that the edit was rejected overall based only on my review.

there was an ivysaur on my radar. pokevision claimed it was across a major interstate highway in an office building. and would be disappearing in 5 minutes.
really... what's the point? :)
... it took me far too long to figure out why I couldn't pick "Sparky" from the pokemon type dropdown
The sliphroad IV caluclator is hard to use. It strongly depends on you getting the % of CP arc that your Pokemon has as accurately as possible. Short of whipping out a protractor and being super careful, that's pretty difficult.
