The only problem with local only trading is that it will still be extremely difficult to get Pokemon of types that aren't near you. The only fire pokemon I have is from eggs. I would love to trade with someone from an area that is rich in fire pokemon.
I need to send cages at least 10 floors down with creatures and then up again empty. Since this time around I didn't used stairs but winding halls with slopes, it takes a long time to haul them, so I was thinking on reusing the minecart to send them down, the thing is that dwarves didn't load the...
I doubt anyone here would be fired just for saying "I support Trump". But that's also a small step away from "I support racism and xenophobia", which would probably get you sent to HR
Trump might be a bit different because people might assume that someone voting for him is e.g. racist. With a more generic mainstream republican you still can't be all that sure what the supporter is thinking
Especially at a company that's trying to encourage employee diversity, and particularly trying to recruit more black and Hispanic engineers, saying that you support Trump's policies directly opposes that goal
@twobugs Did you see that privilege essay I linked yesterday? Because this is basically the same issue: they don't see the difference in scale between "I hate black people" and "People hate me for hating black people"
@twobugs Sure. You're allowed to have the opinion. But if expressing that opinion directly hurts company goals, the company is not obligated to support that expression.
@Chippies i work downtown in a populated area, so you can't go anywhere without tripping on 3 of them, but the nearest one to my house is like a mile away
@twobugs i'm not saying google would, but there are definitely ways to fire people after they do political things without having the paperwork outright say "it's because of political things"
@twobugs A lot of employment in the US is "at will", and I don't think "member of a particular political party" is a protected class. And endorsing sexism, racism, and xenophobia falls under the category of "exclusionary behavior" or "inappropriate communication" or something like that.
@murgatroid99 yes, obviously, but if you're worried about getting fired over your racist opinions, you probably shouldn't be discussing it at the work place
if your company fired you for participating in a political rally outside of work time where you didn't have any company related gear or anything on, that is a different thing entirely
the dallas police chief said something interesting hte other day. basically that police forces now have to do a lot more things than they should be doing
because when you cut public services, the people who relied on those services don't disappear, they usually end up being handled by criminal justice system
@twobugs The problem is that people think that Trump having this opinion makes it legitimate, and that they suddenly can't be criticized for having shitty opinions.
So, I made my account with the pokemon trainer club and I can't remember my password and think I remember my username, but when I hit the forgot button it sends me to a random page about making a account
So I'm traveling soon to another country and I'm wondering if I will have a bigger chance of finding other species of Pokemons that are harder to find in my own country "Sweden". The country I'm going to is tropic and I've heard that there are different kind of Pokemons depending what country you...
@arda because 1) while it's risky, I haven't had anything lost yet and 2) the alternative would be to reschedule delivery if I miss it and that's always annoying and always a chance I could miss it again
This reminds me of this Atlantic article which was a conversation with a Trump supporter who was just like "muh freedums, people dont want me saying racist stuff ; ;"
@Ellesedil I find it easier to adjust the throw strength, because I can move the camera higher, so the pokemon is lower and I can just flick the ball at it
user15026
@LessPop_MoreFizz FINE GET EATEN IF YOU WANT THEN I DONT CARE
sometimes I switch back to it and it's just doing the spinny pokeball thing non-stop forever, even though it's checking my location and I'm moving on the map and all
but it doesn't spawn pokemon when it's doing the spinny ball thing
restarting the game fixes it, but it's annoying, because 1) it takes a while to load the game again and 2) pretty sure the loading part eats the most data
and my data is somewhat limited
I got 1gb between my wife and I, luckily she hardly uses any of it
I played for a few hours yesterday, and today the app glitched and logged me out, it now says I have to verify my email address but I'm not getting any emails sent to any of my accounts, is there any way to check which email I used? Or to get back into my account? I don't want to have to restart.
