@bwDraco Used a Samsung tablet the other day where the camera didn't work at all with low batt. As in, from an app, you press the camera button and it just fails, silently. Nothing happens, no error thrown.

So... the guy resigned in October, and you held elections the next June, to fill the seat until November...

It takes time for these things to happen

during which time period, Congress will have approximately 497 days of vacation

We had a primary for that seat in whenever that happened

Since there were 5 republicans running

And the one winner of that contest is probably the one who will take the seat

but we'll see

@fredley Okay, update: So yesterday I emailed my manager with a very formal notification that I had bedbug bites which confirmed they had spread to our area. She called me later in the day giving me permission to wfh today since they hadn't gotten the report from the exterminator for this weekend

@Chippies ikno. I might get it to help me develop etc. I don't have a decent desktop now. I have a DDR2 one laying somewhere which is not worth reviving, and I don't really want to spend money for something that I will not be able to take it abroad if I end up studying abroad (well, carrying a pc instead of clothes and stuff is not the best idea).

My best shot is eGPU but still, my ram or cpu isn't that good too. This pc has a 1xDDR3L slot which has a 8gb ram right now. Only 16gb DDR3L rams are server rams and cost way too much. My CPU is not swappable.

My best shot by now was making small indie games and put them on itch.io for cheap prices and in some time get a new PC with gains, but now that paypal doesn't support turkey, that'll pretty much not work either. I have greenlight pass, which is now my goal.

@ardaozkal 8gb is enough for gaming, as long as you don't have 20+ tabs open in chrome

8gb is good for optimized games, yeah, however it doesn't help if the game you are playing is leaking memory.

meh, 8gb is good for most games as long as that's all you do at the time

Thoughts on this M.SE question asking about Human Resource Machine optimization? I don't play the game really so I don't know if it makes sense to ask the stuff here or not, but I suspect one of you might have an idea or ten.

I had to get more ram, because my chrome tabs were using like 3gb of the 8gb I had

If you write the question that someone can understand and answer it without buying the game I think you can totally ask that question. Now if your code does not work I would ask on SO, while when you have working code and you want to optimize it you probably want to go to codereview. I have played it a bit and it's quite fun, but it is literally coding with limited functions (which is the challenge of it)

it could also be considered a puzzle game though

as there are finite amount of optimized solutions

while this is not quite the same thing, we do allow minecraft-commands which is similar.

I think it really depends on if you consider the game as a programming challenge or a puzzle game

@GodEmperorDune yes. You can VERY broadly consider that programming (well, you literally code on the mentioned game though).

since each level has its own set of functions available, there's a very limited amount of ways to complete a level with the lowest possible moves

we allow those math puzzle games here instead of booting to math.se

I think the difference between actual coding and HRM is that HRM is very limited and there would only be one or maybe two correct answers, which is the opposite of how SO works
