Q: Terarria what happens with Crimson Seeds?

I recently spawned and killed the Eye of Cthulu, I got 2 crimson seeds, I planted them and it now says (when I ask my dryad) "Central City (my world) is now 7% Crimson! You are so close." What does this mean? Have I destroyed my world? What is happening? I am terrified.

Many agencies assume VB.NET / C# skills are interchangeable and if you know one of the two, they want to know if you have web experience, which usually leads to ASP.NET. The part they don't tell you is they're probably still on the 2.0 or 3.5 framework.
