Honestly, some of the best games are linearly-designed. Because they have a tight control over how you experience the game so it's easier to craft a better story.

So, those remained broken for some time.

@StrixVaria I always need to read trilogies together. I just want to get to the next book.

I know a lot of folks break them up, but once I finish one book in a series I move onto the next.

In fact for Robin Hobb she has a few different trilogies all set within the same world. I read the first trilogy this year, and now I'm on the second. I've got two more complete ones to go through, plus one which is currently being written. MY plan is to get through each of them this year, but in-between each trilogy read something else.

After liveship i'll likely do mistborn... after the next trilogy I'll probably do the Dunk & Egg novellas (GRRM / asoiaf)

I prefer to break up trilogies. If I read too much in the same style for too long, I get tired.
