Well, two reasons

1. We weren't consistent in actually applying it. And we never came to a consensus. So it's primarily a thing of people put it when they feel like it

2. Of the 3 classifiers (name, platform, and genre), genre is the least stable and least consistent. For example, does Legend of Zelda count as an RPG?

It gets worse when you reach the games that aren't in one solid genre. They're even worse than multi-platform games. Those scenarios, which I believe Allegience falls under, are the ones where we pretty much should avoid genre tagging.
