Chrome's half fucked implementation of input type=date and input type=time is seriously making me consider using user agent checks in my code

Chrome doesn't respect locale settings like it said it would in its own documentation. And the default format is America's back-asswards MM/DD/YYYY format, instead of something that produces no ambiguity, like YYYY-MM-DD

And trying to type 16:10 doesn't automatically set the time to PM - Chrome just rejects the hour

No wait, it does set the hour to 04, but that just confuses users even more

so it's v-android on the latest version of Vaadin, and v-lin in the one we're using

this is the part of the project when it dawns on you that not all users will be using the website with Windows + IE9 and some will be using Android + Chrome/Firefox

so the on-hover error tooltip with all of the useful information is now just a button that becomes green when tapped

and we don't deal with the on-hover error tooltip, or the error message creation, for us it's just a method call that accepts an HTML string and does everything itself

and we can add a kludge that shows some additional helpful text only visible with body.v-lin

but then Vaadin will first layout the page as if that text was visible, leaving a lot of blank space

then you click on something and vaadin realizes it actually isn't, and re-layouts it accordingly, making the whole page jump around

and everything is terrible

I'm not even sure what these "graphic designers" are. We usedto have a graphic designer, but they fired him, since "they don't feel they need a graphic designer"

Dogs are better hunting partners than they are food animals.
