South Asia usually refers to the Indian subcontinent - India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. SE Asia is basically everything from Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar down to Indonesia. Basically, my argument is that ODST is a completely separate game to Halo 3; as it has no link to the rest of the series' storyline, the multiplayer is actually only Firefight, the rest of the multiplayer is part of the separate game (as you mention, the only link is that it came in the same box).

@twobugs Yeah. Though I wish I knew that you could take her out with the normal sniper rifle and still recruit her. I fought her with the tranq pistol. That was tedious.

I did too, but I was able to snipe her with the tranq pistol pretty easily as there's no locational damage

My friend claims you can CQC her but I was able to sneak up to her numerous times and nothing happened

I was sad you couldn't hold her up for a goody like you can with other MGS bosses :(

The side ops are kinda weird. I had some problems with the Unlucky Dog 02 side op... twice I've tried it and it only spawned one of the prisoners.

Also, the target practice side ops are really easy except for the R&D one which is a nightmare

@twobugs I only did a few of those. It's weird that you can't use your normal weapons there, only non-lethals are allowed.

But I find it very nice that you have so many non-lethal options.

You should try using holdups if you haven't. They've been made extremely good in the Fox Engine

Also, extracting the PoWs gives a pretty significant point bonus

Once you know what to do you can barrel in on Chico, grab him, and then beeline for Paz and grab her

Sleeper hold or slam and tranqing just don't have the length they used to. And since there aren't any loading screens, it's kind of a liability

Although, only Combat alerts count against you in scoring, I believe.

I don't remember Ground Zeroes, but in TPP you aren't counted as having broken stealth until the base goes on alert, even if a guard sees you.

So you can be discovered, but you have about 1-2 seconds to take out the guard before he raises the alarm

That's without reflex. I don't really like reflex mode and you get a bonus for not triggering it so I just turned it off.

Ground Zeroes also has a good checkpoint system, I highly recommend using it

Yeah. You're only really going to take them out if you're already aiming at them or about to CQC them

@Yuuki When you get discovered and time slows down so you can shoot the person before they raise the alarm

From my experience, you aren't counted as 'seen' in TPP unless you explicitly get the -10 heroism callout

I haven't had any holdup issues, but if you haven't done so already I highly recommend researching the Sneaking Suit. It eliminates footstep sound

How to beat every mission: sneak suit, banana, cardboard box, dirty mags, empty magazines.

I would drop a dirty mag next to a held-up soldier so whenever another soldier would see him, they'd get caught too.

@5pike My experience is they won't hear your footsteps (at least, crouch walking which is mostly what I do behind enemy lines), but they can still hear your bumping in to things and there are lots of little things to be careful about

e.g. if you bump into a bucket, they can hear that

If fits into my fantasy of Big Boss being a clumsy oaf.
