Q: How to expand to an other island in way of gold and steel?

BanditoBunnyCannot figure out how to expand to an other island in way of gold and steel?

> #define strcpy(a,b) memmove(a,b,strlen(b)+2)
Some coders just want to watch the world (slowly) burn.
@StackExchange I have been here twice as long.
12:04
COME SEE THE VIOLENCE INHERENT IN THE SYSTEM!
HELP HELP WE'RE BEING REPRESSED
I'll violence your inherent
@twobugs #define strcpy(a,b) memmove(a,b,strlen(b)+999999999)
some don't want it to burn
> In python, a really common one:
> `object = None`
@PrivatePansy Tag your music better.
12:14
@GnomeSlice Google Play Music doesn't read metadata. Otherwise you can just tag a bunch of text files as expensive music and have it give you free music
@Unionhawk #define volatile is by far the worst Because it probably wouldn't be noticed immediately (unlike most of the others)
#define if while will become immediately obvious, and it's going to show up in git blame really easily.
Oh god, yeah, that would be bad (I had forgotten what #define identifier <blank> did but it's literally as it says, define the identifier as nothing)
@fredley I think the strcpy ones are probably the worst. In my experience people aren't going to notice very quickly if there's just a byte or two extra
#define double float is also pretty silent but probably innocuous in most applications
@Unionhawk Until you start getting into things like DBL_MAX (I think that's what it is).
12:20
Hmm. Yeah.
Well, either way, with the possible exception of define volatile, all of these will be discovered eventually (that one is an order of magnitude more evil)
Dammit @uni the colorscheme of your current gravatar is not good. it looks like some weird mountain side blurb.
Well... your face looks like some weird mountain
So...
@Unionhawk At least my face has foliage.
12:23
Hang on, I'm reverting
Okay, reverted, now we wait for caching
@Unionhawk Wow that was a very swift backing down
@GraceNote It doesn't look good in the tiny version, to be fair
@Arperum Yeah. I already said that, but @Unionhawk doesn't listen
It looks like a black quarter circle. No contrast.
Oh but you're back to normal now
So that's alright then
@PrivatePansy He listened to me! I can influence things \o/

A: How to report a "toxic" player in Heroes of the Storm?

randomdude123My question is wether Blizzard needs proof of someone being "Toxic" or not. Because i've seen so many players being little babies and report someone for playing badly with their character.

@GodEmperorDune I tend to agree, but I hadn't seen the Gerudo Valley one
@Unionhawk That or people need to invest in better eyes
Probably also accurate
@GraceNote I need to invest in new glasses anyway.
These ones are getting old and scratchy.
@Arperum My glasses are half opaque and I still could see a Ganondorf
12:31
@GraceNote So I might also need to invest in a better screen?
That or you need to look with your eyes and not your nose.
@GraceNote On the 16x16 icon the avatar looks like... pretty much nothing
It's indescribable
Actually, wait
It looks like one of @badp's better attempts at art
3
So you're saying @badp's art is indescribable?
@PrivatePansy so his art is "pretty much nothing"? lol
@Unionhawk What I'm saying is it merely wants to make me gorge my eyes out with a fork rather than throw myself out of the window
3
12:33
Well I think @badp's art is fantastic
After years of needing to make sure I don't call out the wrong people in chat, I've become accustomed to working with 16x16
32x32 is better
It is but that ain't not gonna not happen on the usual circumstances.

@PrivatePansy Are you reading Ozy and Millie for the first time now?
@RonanForman No, I'm getting old dailies

Q: Strategy for aoe2 to reach castle age

Ananthu R VWhat is the most effective startegy to go to castle age in the least time possible? What is the ideal number of villagers on each resource?

@ardaozkal Yes
wow, the no-screenshot code of W10 is very strong
It turns out black
no application can capture it. Steam chat needs this.
I'm going to guess you're doing something wrong.
12:56
nah
ApplicationView.GetForCurrentView().IsScreenCaptureEnabled = false;
I'm going to still say you're doing it incorrectly
@Yuuki cc @TimStone, probably
@Unionhawk what should I try it with
iunno
puush, gyazo, sys default can't capture it
it just returns #000000 to that pixel
12:58
Oh, looks like they doing fish too.
And hot dogs?
And they took one steak and cooked directly on the lava.
@Yuuki 'to perfection'
'to a crisp'
@fredley Eh, more like Pittsburgh rare. Almost black on the outside, but still pretty rare/raw on the inside.
Called "Pittsburgh" rare because the steelworkers in Pittsburgh used to take a piece of hot steel out of the forge and just slap a steak on it to cook.
The outside would be cooked almost black but the inside would still be cool.
Also known as "black and blue".
Yeah, cold on the inside is a no go for me
blue steak is delcious. if it's a good cut
Medium rare is where it's at
13:05
"Workshop" here being a blacksmithing workshop.
induction steak
Wait that would probably not work because steak is not metal
They use a pneumatic hammer press to tenderize the meat.

Q: Gears of War Chronology

Cole BusbyWith the release of Gears 1: Ultimate Edition coming down before Gears 4, I wanted to replay the games correctly. obviously, its chronology is 1, 2, 3 but where does judgement fit in to the game cycle?

@Yuuki that gave me a weird but awesome feeling
The idea of it
13:08
@Unionhawk "probably"
probably as in "I don't actually know what sorcery is involved"
Induction, i.e. a strong rapidly fluctuating alternating current
I should try that at the next International Tabletop Day
@Yuuki I thought the point was to tenderize, not liquefy the steak
13:10
@PrivatePansy It pretty much tenderizes with one hit.

He probably probably didn't need three people to tell him that
@GnomeSlice the last few times didn't work so
@FAE please pardon my comments if they seem insensitive
13:50
@GnomeSlice I said it first (inb4 it's not a contest)
Funny, I'm never in shock when someone close dies; it's just a part of life. My first reaction is to inform everyone who knew the person, then ask the immediate family if I can help. Last year it was a grandmother of a cousin, a close friend of the family at 56 (both cancer) and a cousin's son at 5 months; this year nobody so far.

FAE
FAE
@Yuuki I know I'm just like Random Person B on the internet, but you don't have to. It's okay. Not everyone mourns, not everyone feels grief.
@Yuuki I had a similar experience but I was younger. My maternal grandmother passed away when I was in 3rd or 4th grade. It was weird. I didn't really know her that well and she didn't really seem all that pleasant.
It was just kind of like "Oh. She passed away."

@GodEmperorDune Oof, that's rough.
@twobugs The thing is, I knew my grandfather pretty well (he lived with us for months at a time) and I loved him.
@FAE yeah, luckily it was a slow moving thing so i had a chance to say goodbye.. still tough though
too long, did read
13:59
I can understand not really grieving if you don't know the person and you don't really like the person. For me and my grandfather, it just feels... wrong.
@Yuuki i totally get you
@Yuuki Hm, well I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with your response. Death is a fact of life, if anything, I think your response is more mature.
FAE
FAE
@twobugs I dunno, I think that implies that mourning through grief and sadness is immature and I don't think that's the case, IMO.
I mean, I've been sad when pets I grew up with passed away. The first one was really hard. After that I think it's been a lot easier. I just try to keep on going.
Grief is part of the healing process. Let it wash over you.
14:01
Death would be easy to accept if there was no such thing as love.
@FAE I worded it poorly, but I was thinking of my dad who is a very overly dramatic individual. I think that is an immature response, but it's also not really my place to comment on how he deals with grief.
FAE

@MartinSojka Do you live in a family of insurance statisticians?
@PrivatePansy Heh, no. We just all have (different for everyone) conditions which can easily kill us off early (diabetes, epilepsy due to brain damage and heart problems) so it's kind of a running bet about who of us kicks the bucket first.
Also, we need to make sure our children, nephews and nieces are taken care of. :)
Also, can anyone provide a sane explanation for why 30 undergraduate students decided to classify Sherlock Holmes as science fiction?
They've only seen the movies?
@PrivatePansy No
14:11

@MartinSojka I've seen one of them. They were terrible, but they were most certainly not scifi

14:37
To be fair, a lot of "classic" sci-fi is pretty damn boring to read now, since the ideas from them have been recycled so much. I can't really fault people for not reading the old stuff
@KevinvanderVelden I really disagree
If anything it should be the other way round
@Sterno And a lot of it is just science now
20,000 leagues under the sea? Oh boy, a submarine rolls eyes
@Sterno I have read a lot of classics, and most of them age really well
@PrivatePansy True, but I'm talking about classification in book stores and libraries and such
Although it depends on which definition of 'classic' you're talking about

@twobugs That sucks
Lord of the rings is in the sci-fi section
I meant the Golden Age era of scifi
Brave New World never predicted Tinder!
