That edit in the video modified a bunch of tags by typing in place

but you can do that with search replace.

Say you want to delete those tags instead.

If there is one tag per line, hit Ctrl-K to delete the tags and the lines they're on. (ST3 keybind, sure there's one for Notepad++ too)

or if you just want to remove the tag, Ctrl-Space Delete (ctrl-space extends the selection to the next parens/tag/quote)

Maybe you want to get a list of menu entry ids you're using.

Search for id=", select all occurrences, ctrl-space, reverse selection, enter.

Delete everything around the id number with ctrl-left/right delete.

For bonus points, sort and uniq the result.
