@MadMAxJr Oh yeah, every time I'm reminded of Spirits Within, my mind just automatically releases canisters of mind bleach and I forget it ever existed.

It was mostly the Japanese-style plot that ruined it for Western audiences. I watched it when I was younger and didn't know too much about the culture.

I'm at least somewhat sure that if I watched today, I might like it better.

@AshleyNunn They're just spewing stupid shit in light of the Supreme Court hearings right now...the attorney representing states wanting to enact such bans suggested that the purpose of marriage was entirely about procreation, which prompted the obvious question "Uh, what about heterosexual couples who don't have kids?" and (even better, from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg) "Say a 70-year-old couple wants to get married..."

The response to the latter question was basically that 70 year old men can totally still produce children and hey, let's not talk about old people sex.
