The only thing I can think of in thinking about tormenting a TV is that you can't watch multiple episodes of one show in a row, you gotta change shows every episode.

@chippies it has to do with how file sharing is considered. PVR = you clearly have licensing. (it's inherent in the device, and the fact that you are pulling directly from the service), whereas file sharing = no way to prove license

I mean I am not advocating for the terrible that is the current TV situation and anti torrent and stuff. It sucks. But there aren't widespread better options that can completely replace it. We are moving to more streaming services, but even those, except for Netflix are often tied to you having a specific cable or satellite provider
