Yea, store some souls, they give massive damage bonus when you get loads of them.

51700% extra dps due to souls for me.

My rush through the levels is ending around lvl 530 I think, barely beat lvl 525.

That calculator also has a suggested ascension level. Do that a few times. It'll help.
