@Garan Not really. Minecraft runs on LWJGL, which is a Java OpenGL library, as the name cryptically implies, and nothing else. That's why it runs natively on MacOS and Linux with the same binary.

@KevinvanderVelden It's how it works so well for multiplayer. It creates what is effectively a server version on your computer, and then only communicates what the renderer needs to know.

That way if the graphics are slow, the game itself doesn't slow down.

There's exactly one check for "world.isRemote" in there, to add a slow falling speed to the entity until the chunk is loaded.

It might be a compiler thing, in source it's 0.8, java goes this is compared with doubles a lot, let's store it as a double

Or maybe just the decompiler

hence the 0.8 constant was automatically promoted

notice that the constants assigned to float f2 are 0.91F literals

I guess Python doubles are actually quadruple precision or something?

The maximum exponent for IEEE 754 is 255; Python reports 1024

so that's at least two extra bits

a double is being multiplied by a float literal, which is promoted to the double value of the float literal, which is way off

THEREFORE I am definitely in the right to consider this "concerning"

when you have this numeric type coercion stuff you probably shouldn't have to specify the type of your literals to begin with
