I never really felt like any of my secondaries jelled well and kept changing them, so it's a little hazy

I slopped my way to victory on Corotrangl in EOU. One party member left standing, my Protector, and furiously Medica III'ing herself while the dead medic's poison ticked away on him. Luckily the poison finished him off because she certainly couldn't spare a turn to attack.

That fight would always be going really well until at about 25%, he'd start doing Flood every other turn or so and basically sleep-locking the party.

Cotrangl always left me in a weird state because I had a rather dissonant experience on it compared to most folk. Most folk got thrashed by it on their first go around. I didn't, and I'm not entirely sure why and after that naturally I was too high a level to allow him to be any more of a threat so I never really grasped his threat potential.

@GraceNote I don't know about the original, but in this one, he's a total pushover except for the sleep bit, which can be pretty random about who gets affected and how badly that screws you over.

I imagine on Normal @wipqozn is going to be able to faceroll that fight.

I had a grimoire with a curse skill on it, so removing his fire protection was trivial. Thericas solved the bind problem. And his damage was totally manageable, so long as we were conscious to deal with multiple turns of it. It was the sleep, the damned sleep, that got us. particularly when he'd flood two turns ina row

I know that at least Fenrir has a drop, and I think I remember reading it was something easy, but I can't remember it now. I should go look

Oh, maybe not. You have to kill him in 1 turn.

If you're in the fourth stratum you should be able to mess Fenrir in one turn.

Q: Are O-Powers playthrough specific?

O-power's seem to take a decent amount of time to level up. So I was wondering if they are saved across all games or if they are playthrough specific. If I start a new game will I have the same O-Powers and upgrades or will I need to find them and level them all up again?

Q: Is there any reward for making it to the highest rank in the Battle Chateau?

I don't even worry about weapon damage upgrades for her anymore, because she rarely attacks

That said, in EO3, applying curse was the dumbest of the dumb skill-wise as it's only available on the Monk, as their 10 Fist Mastery skill, as an attack that costs a lot of TP and also self-damages.

I pretty much resolved to use the Curse Poems (a 1 attack-power Book with 8 effects of Curse smithed on it, which I think you get in the 4th stratum) as my only means to inflict Curse. Which is great since two bosses had drop conditions of "Must die from Curse backlash."

@Sterno No one would blame you for this because Fist skills were... less than ideal in implementation. Fist Mastery, simply, wasn't good enough on its own and the damage multipliers weren't enough to make running Fist skills a viable tactic.

It's telling when the main suggestion for using unarmed attacks is to use the Dual Wield class and have them only wield one weapon so that all the fist skills use the equipped weapon's attack power, to make fist skills viable.
