@JasonBerkan No that question was why a game needs admin rights to run, I attempted an answer in that question and received a lot of flack for it. This is just wrong. was considered a constructive comment so I removed my answer. My answer focused on installation, So, that being said I repose the question stated above

@ColeBusby There ain't a ton of difference between needing admin rights to run and needing admin rights to install. Either both would be on topic or both would be off topic.

I'll admit that the question was asking about why games needed admin rights to run, not install, but I figured to access the same areas it installed to would've been a drawn conclusion
Installation usually requires lots of write access to complete. Most games store savegames and basic configuration stuff in the My Documents folder, where the user will logically have write access. During running, though, they only really need to read from the installation folder.
@ColeBusby Usually write access requires higher security access than just straight up reading does.
